It was an unplanned stop at the end of a long road trip. All we wanted was somewhere to get a good night sleep. We checked in around 6:30pm. I guess we got the last double bed room. Unfortunately, neither my husband or I could understand 90% of what the gentleman checking us in was saying. Understand, this is not a usual issue for me, but the accent was very thick. If we had realized we could have requested a king room instead, we certainly would have. However, we were under the impression it was the last room available. I only realized the miscommunication when I was complaining to a different gentleman in the morning. The room was awful. We were placed next to the exit door and across from the stairwell. All night we listened to doors slamming. I could hear every footstep from the guests upstairs, who stayed up late. I've never stayed at a hotel where you could hear so much above you. Both bedframes were squeaky. My husband's so much that every time he rolled over, it woke me up. The bathroom floor tiles were all broken and I could hardly close the bathroom door. The bathtub has rust and the shower head was broken. It was barely more than a trickle of water and I had to kill several spiders before I could take a pathetic shower. The toilet seat is installed crooked, so when you sit down, you butt cheek touches the toilet. We hadn't stayed at a Best Western in a long time and last time it was a Plus. I guess that Plus at the end makes a big difference. Both this Best Western and Seabrook in general, were a disappointment to us. The Chilis restaurant down the road was also awful. I'd strongly recommend driving a few more minutes north and finding a nicer place.
