The Esplanade Hotel

This is a good value hotel. Ok, it's not the Ritz, but it is a perfectly good clean hotel with friendly staff with a great location overlooking the harbour. All our meals were hot & served promptly. Our 3rd visit & we will return again next year. Recommended.

Just left The Esplanade after being before but this visit was exceptional. Room over looking the bay with a balcony. Thank you to the lovely Debbie who left some Halloween chocolates on our table for my daughter and our waitress Hayley. Food was of a very good standard. Thank you all

Good food very welcome Hotel & Staff. Comfortable bedroom. Excellent cliff top position great views. Very steep hill to front but two cliff lifts help make things a little easier Entertainment varies but good in general. Would recommend this hotel for comfortable feeling.

We just had 5 Days at the Esplanade hotel,with DAISH HOLIDAYS, had an excellent sea view room , Great staff, great service, Good Gluten Free food , excellent evening enteertainment, ,2 games of Bingo each evenings, great outdoor patio ,for good weather, will be going back soon !

Lovely sea view from our room, room could have done with a bit of paint work. Was quite a wait for the lift as we was on third floor so tending to walk down the stairs instead. Meals ok coffee wasn’t very hot in the morning at breakfast not hot at all last day think it must have been put out at 8 when the people on coaches had theirs. We didn’t have ours till 8.30 so left most of it. Reception staff ver helpful and the lady in the coffee lounge was very pleasant and very hard working. We would go back again.

Very poor for the £900+ we paid Room has no hot water. Broken furniture. Boarded window. Dirty carpet. Damp ceiling Food hit and miss. Gluten free ordered at time of booking and very limited provided. Then on occasions put normal bread on gluten free plate so it contaminated the food Tea and coffee lukewarm. Food left on empty tables before people had arrived in the dining table. At one point my husband had his starter removed while he was still eating it and had to speak up!! Lift. Just one lift and you could wait up to 30 mins for it!!! Be prepared Entertainment. Needs a lot of improvement Bingo. Fab! No hot drinks at bar and none available in public areas on an evening which is sad because a nice cup of coffee on terrace would have been nice Carpets throughout a major trip hazard!!! Most guests have mobility issues and this really concerned me Drinks at bars very good in terms of price Molly. Deb and viktoria very helpful Met some lovely people but wouldn’t return Simon the manager wasn’t dressed for his position and we only saw him on our arrival day?! Needs a complete re fir from top to bottom. Photos are from our room. So glad to be home today!
