Fairfield Inn & Suites Portland Maine Airport

The facility was clean, but the lack of help left the room service on a call request.

Hello! We were here for two nights. It was horrible. Our room smelled cigarettes and humidity. Then, our sheets were not cleaned with blood on them.... The air conditionner make so much noise at night that you cannot sleep... I told that to the front desk, they told me that the hotel is full... In a nutshell overpriced and needs to be fully renovated asap.

This Fairfield Inn was by far the worst Fairfield we have ever stayed in! Room was described as a larger room, yet it was definitely the smallest Fairfield room we have ever had, I immediately went to the front desk after seeing the room and was told we were in the correct room, I responded it’s supposed to have a sitting area and she said “we don’t have rooms with sitting areas “ and that the room was recently remodeled and is larger than other rooms, well I can’t imagine the size of a regular room…the bathroom was one of the smallest hotel bathrooms we’ve ever seen, the walls were so thin we could here the people next door sneezing and talking, and the refrigerator was missing a leg and rocked back and forth! And the breakfast was just sad, a large group had just left and so we expected it to be bad, but it was worse than bad! After 10 minutes of not seeing anyone do anything I went to the front desk ( 2 people there) and was told that she was ‘working on it’, wouldn’t you think that 1 of them could have helped her?? Oh that’s right, 1 of them put paper plates out…I understand that a large group had just left but the attendant looked like she couldn’t care less and didn’t want to be there! The one positive was the bed was very comfortable.

Stayed three nights, in two different rooms (checked out and checked back in days later). First room had many issues, from shower safety bar pulling out of the wall, to extremely noisy a/c needing motor bearings, to some mold in shower area, and while room was recently repainted there were dozens of paint spots on the carpet. The bathroom is tiny, need to move your legs to close the door while on the toilet. And there is almost no counter space in the bathroom. The breakfast was ok, only one fresh fruit in addition to packaged fruit cups, it does have hot eggs or hot egg sandwiches and ham/bacon. Overall this was an average experience, I expect more from Marriott properties, who have chosen to charge extra for the name.

I paid a high rate for one night here and was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that it was not worth the money spent. The staff was pleasant, but when informed that something was broken, simply shrugged and said, yeah, they're waiting for parts. The bathroom shower is in need of re-caulking. The breakfast is pretty standard, nothing to write home about. This is a weirdly overpriced hotel that failed to meet expectations.

Nice room, friendly staff, breakfast was good they had pre maid waffles. Only 2 outlets, so bring power *****. Easy on and off expressway. Quite room. Plenty of parking. Call before you go to visit sites. Most were closed or had turned into private property. Good restaurants in the area.

If you base your decision solely on exterior of the building, you’d likely be like me and second guess staying. Exterior is old, and not overly welcoming for a Marriott property. I almost didn’t go in. To my surprise i walked in to a nice clean lobby and very friendly staff. Room was somewhat dated, small with a strange corner bathroom but it all worked for the space of the room. Room was clean. Location was great proximity to the airport. I honestly can’t say I’m rushing to stay here again but, I wouldn’t deter anyone from this property. There was nothing “bad” about it. Just wasn’t a noteworthy showing by Marriott.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel needs a lot of work. It is old and worn. It requires an overhaul. Given our schedule, it was convenient for us, but the hotel needs some TLC. The staff was friendly and pleasant, but the rooms and bathroom were small. It was convenient to local places and interstates but not sure it was worth the $ given we are staying in a Fairfield Inn north of this location and it is modern and spacious.

I stayed one night to attend a local wedding. The front desk staff was helpful and checked me in efficiently. When I stepped into the room, there was an overwhelming odor. When I inquired about whether there had been an animal in the room the staff member said it was possible. She offered to run an ionizer(ozone?) machine if I wanted when I was at the wedding. They had the door propped open when I returned to air the room out and it was better at first. While I was trying to sleep the smell was nauseating even with the ac blowing on high. I let the front desk know when I checked out how bad the smell was and she said they would shampoo the carpet. Why wasn’t that room taken out of use for the night or until they could deal with the urine soaked carpet? Won’t stay at another Fairfield Inn again.
