Podere Val d'Orcia - Tuscany Equestrian

This place is breathtaking right out of a movie! Gianluca and Selene were the most gracious hosts going above and beyond to make our stay memorable! The food was all homemade. The staff was attentive and friendly! The rooms were very comfortable, slept like a baby I am just going to say We will for sure be back to spend time with our new found friends!! We visited this beautiful, beautiful property about a week ago. It’s quite remote, however 100% worth it. The view of Val D’Orcia is spectacular - we traveled a lot and this is the best in Tuscany! The hotel and property is gorgeous, and the accommodations / rooms are absolutely perfect - up-to-date , warm, cozy with modern technology and a rustic ambience. The horses are beautiful, the food was wonderful. And the hosts were lovely. We would highly recommend but be aware. It’s quite a drive from the local town which has the best pizza :-) it’s a great location to tour Tuscany or to spend a relaxing few days.

We loved our stay here. The owners are awesome, we really enjoyed chatting with all of them. The resort is stunning. Views like a postcard. Originally we were hesitant on booking here because we thought we would want to be near Montepaulciano, but it didn't matter. Anywhere we drove was a beautiful journey. We liked that this resort had activities that we could book, as well as dinners on site. We ended up eating dinner here every night. They have a rotating tasting menu, so there's something different every night. The convenience was terrific. They accommodated any time we wanted to show up and eat. What really made them stand out was how helpful they were in our planning. Leading up to our stay, I had conversations back and forth with Sandy for itinerary advice in the area. We also went to their recommended attractions while we were there. We couldn't get a reservation at the time we wanted at one of the wineries, and Sandy texted her contact there, and got us in! It's really top-tier service at this place. We traveled all over Italy during our trip and this was our favorite part. We hope to be back someday!

The scenery was breathtaking, the suites were stunning and the excursions were top notch. But what made our stay unforgettable was the hospitality - not formal or stuffy but warm and welcoming. Sandy, Phil and Selene and the entire staff made us feel like special guests at their home.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at Podere Val d'Orcia and we wish we could have stayed much longer! The property is so beautiful and our room had two windows with absolutely beautiful views. The room was extremely spacious and well-maintained, so clean! This location is so incredibly beautiful. The food was wonderful. The chef uses a farm-to-table supply of all their own products. They even make their own olive oil which is ranked #5 in the world!! So good! This is an equestrian training center, so we were able to see and talk to the horses on our way to breakfast and dinner. Cinzia (one of the owners) is so enthusiastic and energetic! She is everywhere, communicating with guests, checking the horses, even making coffee cake and crostata for the breakfast buffet. This is a dream property with wonderful owners who are on-site and hands-on, making sure your stay is magical!

Sandy and Phil are the most amazing hosts and make every stay in Tuscany memorable! From the freshly prepared breakfasts (baked with love by Sandy herself) each morning, offering locally sourced products and a variety of items perfect to start your day; to the location right by multiple sites, including the Bagni di San Filippo, there is always something to see and experience. Sandy and Phil offer warm hospitality and their expertise of the area to ensure you get the most out of your stay. One of our favorite memories was enjoying a delicious Tuscan BBQ, all done by Sandy and Phil, with typical Tuscan sides and wines too! Fabulous way to end a busy day of exploring and at sunset too! Excited to plan our next visit!
