North Bay Inn Santa Rosa

This was one of the better prices in Santa Rosa that we could find. The room is clean, the beds are comfortable. The room has a fridge and microwave. There is a required $100 deposit that they tell us will be refunded within a week. At check in, the person who came out to check us in (there was no bell to ring, but she appeared within a couple of minutes) was not rude but she was also not welcoming and spoke so softly I had trouble hearing what she was saying. The lighting in the rooms is harsh and unpleasant in my opinion, but that may not bother everyone. With a little more care I think this place would be appealing, but at the moment it's rather barren. Possibly one should be grateful for all these details since they keep the price down?

We’ve stayed in a few budget motels while criss-crossing California on a long road trip - and this was easily the worst of them. We don’t mind basic but we can’t handle outright filthy and this place had us wondering whether we could sleep in the bed. The sheets were stained, there was a clump of dark hair on one of the pillows and my partner even said she was going to sleep on her beach towel to avoid touching the bed! Eventually I asked for a change of sheets, we remade the (uncomfortable) bed and slept uneasily. The free breakfast is a sugary packaged pastry (don’t bother). The manager was friendly (which gets it from 1 to 2 stars) but I recommend you avoid.

Just your basic accommodations. Clean enough, good size room.. TV okay size. Microwave and minifridge. Open closet. Small table. Easy by room parking on single level platform. No lobby so no continental breakfast of any kind. Convenient store across street, fast food next door.
