I can’t express how much my friend and I absolutely loved our experience here!! The hotel is absolutely stunning, the rooms are gorgeous and have beautiful high ceilings, and are very clean. The staff is exceptional, they are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal as were the drinks. The location is also perfect for downtown Santa Marta, with many restaurants and services around the block. I can’t say enough good things! I hope to come back one day, all the way from Canada!
Best Western Plus Santa Marta Hotel

Nicht wert das Geld. Zimmer und Pool waren ok. Checkin dauerte fast 1 Stunde.
Hilton Santa Marta

For quite some time, I've been eager to experience a stay at this particular Hilton, especially given my frequent visits to Santa Marta. My anticipation was marked by high expectations, yet upon experiencing the hotel firsthand, I found that it exceeded them by a considerable margin. Drawing from my extensive travels as a Hilton Team member, where I've had the privilege of exploring numerous Hilton properties across the globe, I can confidently attest that the Hilton Santa Marta stands out as one of the finest establishments I've ever encountered. Its exceptional service, remarkable amenities, and unparalleled attention to detail truly set it apart in the realm of luxury hospitality.

The room was clean, had a writing desk and hanging space for clothes. TV and wifi. Shower water was cold but when requested was fixed with hot water. Breakfast was included. I am not a spanish speaker but use google translate and my broken spanish sentences. The girl didn't speak any English and that's OK but she treated me like I was a foreigner walk in that she wanted nothing to do with. I asked for the menu. She said there wasn't one. She told me thru translate eggs 3 ways that's it. I asked for fruits juice and toast available only because I saw others had this. That night I went to reception to ask if menu they said yes. As I was staying a few days and doing day tours I wanted to enjoy a breakfast before leaving. Next morning with her sour attitude she again approached and spoke in spanish. This time annoyed I said you know I don't speak spanish and I'm not doing this again. A guy Came and told me options change each day. I explained I didn't get the options I saw of others and only got what she offered and the fruit I saw. I ended up with same breakfast. For this reason I cannot recommend this hotel. They need a menu. Then you know what's available. I can read spanish better than I speak. Relying on a sour unfriendly and unhelpful girl is not an option I choose. For this I don't recommend as foreign traveller.
Zuana Beach Resort

The hotel is very well maintained and clean with amazing pools and a clean beach with good security. The apartment we had had an amazing view of the sea and open air balcony to enjoy. The bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were too flat and very uncomfortable. We had an issue with the toilet leaking continuously, but we understand they resolved this upon reporting it. It's a bit strange that they charge for dish soap and a sponge to clean the kitchen utensils as well as water, however, in the end we didn't need to use either of these as there is a supermarket nearby where we bought these essentials for cheaper. It would be nice to see a few more trees and greenery around the pools to offer some more shade and cool down the pools a bit. They seemed to have daily activities around the main pool, however, we never received clear information about these. The same applies for other activities that we saw, for example, dance classes. The restaurants really were the biggest let down. Really low quality food that just didn't match with the nice surroundings. For instance, the hamburger was a cheap processed one that tasted like cardboard and their Pad Thai was really not at all Pad Thai but a spaghetti mixed with sweet and sour. The best option though was the buffet breakfast where they did have a wide variety of options that changed slightly daily. The sea by the hotel is apparently cleaned frequently and it has to be said this was noticeable. Also a plus here was that there was a lifeguard on the beach taking care of everyone's safety, something very rarely seen in Colombia! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and are very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend a couple of nights here, however it is unlikely that we will return unless the price dramatically reduces, along with the quality of the restaurants.
Hilton Garden Inn Santa Marta

Our stay at the Santa Marta Hilton Garden Inn began with us arriving to a filthy room with a strong wet musty odor. There was on the floor, toilet wet and with hair and the bed with what appeared to be black footprints. We called the front desk and there was no answer. A common theme. Then we called guest services and they sent housekeeping. She looked at the room and said to change our room. We went back to the front desk and they said they could downgrade our room with no price change, a smaller bed and no view or they could clean our room. So we waited over an hour in the lobby for our room to be cleaned. They changed the sheets but the problems did not stop there. We had 2 rooms at this location. In BOTH rooms we received soiled towels. Even after multiple requests they were still soiled. After the 3 request we took pictures and they are below. In our second room we called multiple times about the air conditioning - one of our guests has severe asthma and between the heat and the mold smell it was too much. The front desk didn't pick up so we had to walk downstairs each time - they were informed of our issues as well as medical concerns. They sent someone to open the ceiling and clean the filters. We asked for our room to change and they refused, insisting we were not using the air conditioning correctly. We came down multiple times asking for our room to change as it went as high as 77 degrees. As you can see in the picture the AC setting is chosen. We showed them the picture and the front desk said they couldn't change our room until Jose Sanchez the manager said we could. We booked through Expedia and Expedia called the location multiple times on our behalf as the phones weren't working. On the final day Expedia said the hotel's manage Jose would be coming upstairs to address the situation. We waited over an hour before going to the front desk. They told us he was too busy - essentially they lied to Expedia to get them off the phone. Customer service here was the most horrific I have ever experienced and the hotel was lacking in customer care, cleanliness and service. I stayed here based on the reviews but I caution anyone going there. Please see pictures as proof. At the time of this post we have not received an apology or any compensation for this trip. Expedia reached out to Jose Sanchez to get compensation for our trip and he denied it. As a Hilton Honors member I'm so disgusted by our treatment at this location.
