The outside of the building has an impressive look, except for the buildings next to it. And that there is nothing around, except the freeway. Step inside to a smelly dark lobby and check in desk. The girl behind the desk took so long to find our reservation. Something we were sorry we made! But it was too late to cancel it. She then asked for a $50 deposit. This was the third Best western hotel we stayed at during our 10 day trip around Texas, and the first time it asked of us. There was no elevator to our second floor room. The hallway must have been just washed, but reeked of wet carpet. The room was okay, but very well used. Clean enough, but we refused to sit on the sofa. That looked dirty. All night the toilet ran every 20 minutes, I know I timed it. Could explain why there was no hot water in the sink taps. Neither of us felt comfortable enough to shower in the morning. First time that happened in all our years of travelling, yuck. The breakfast consisted of greasy under cooked sausages and scrambled eggs. No variety of bread to toast. Cold cereal and instant oatmeal. A bowl of over ripe soft apples! The worst breakfast at a Best Western hotel. Even the seating area was dismal. When checking out, the same girl was behind the desk again. Maybe she lives there? We insisted that she go check our room right then, so that we could get our deposit off our bill. We didn’t want to wait and then see it on our credit card statement when we got home. We agree with other reviews, how can this hotel be under the Best Western name? Do they not have a standard that we expect from that chain. Maybe they need to check honest reviews from seasoned travellers!
