Residencias Samara

I spent a terrific week at Residencias Samara this past July (2024). It was my first time ever in Costa Rica. The property and amenities were top notch. Brand new, spacious room, modern decor, immaculately clean. The room was fully equipped, oven, fridge, two giant flatscreens, silverware, pots and pans, you name it. The pool is lovely and a social gathering place for guests. To boot, everything felt warm and welcoming for me as a single woman traveling alone. Will and Vicente are great managers - and Kieran, the owner, went out of his way for all guests he met. In short, the entire experience at Residencias Samara was first rate. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Loved this hotel. It's fairly new so everything is updated and modern. We had a spacious 1 bedroom unit. The kitchen had a full-sized fridge, microwave, toaster oven, cooktop and was well stocked. The TV had lots of channels including some english ones (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC). The unit had a king size bed with great pillows. Shower worked well. Good air con and wifi. Appreciated the rack for hanging wet bathing suits and towels. Lovely pool surrounded by greenery. The water was warm and the shallow area was not deep and would be great for little ones. The hotel is maybe two blocks from the ocean. There is small super next door but there is also a nearby street with three larger supermarkets. Staff was friendly. There is no housekeeping (we prefer this). There was a laundry room on the premises but we did not use it. There was no hair dryer in the unit (I had my own) but perhaps you could ask for one at the front desk. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back.

EXCELLENT hotel - highly recommend!! Residencias Samara is clean, spacious, perfect location and great staff! I stayed several nights in a very nice one bedroom apartment and LOVED it. It is very new and has all the amenities including a full kitchen, balcony and very large bedroom. The property has a lovely salt-water swimming pool too. Another huge bonus is that the beach is only one block away - which has many nice restaurants. In addition, it is only 2 blocks from the center of town which has more very nice Costa Rican and international restaurants and cool boutiques shops. One activity you can do on the beach is surf lessons, the surf school is only a block away from Residencias and has a super friendly staff. The beach in Samara is nice and not overly commercial and you are located near other scenic beaches as well. I definitely plan to return!

This was our second stay in Samara and we wanted a central location . We stayed 23 days at this superb apartment -hotel which is a 5 minute walking distance to everything from the beach , groceries and restaurants . Our one bedroom apartment was spacious and very well appointed . Kitchen was well equipped with a full dimension fridge and very convenient air-fryer . The hotel is new as opened in 2023 with 9 apartments . It has a boutique hotel vibe . The nice layout of the pool area is a big plus . The owner who is very present and all the staff go the extra mile to assist with any needs from reservations to recommendations . Always with a smile ! They made us feel at home . This is the place to stay in Samara whether for a few days or a month . We will return .

Residencias Samara is a excellent place to stay while traveling to Samara, Costa Rica. The whole property was recently built and everything is clean and well designed. I traveled with my wife and two young children and the two bedroom room was more the comfortable for us. My children particularly enjoyed the awesome pool in the center of property. The staff throughout our stay was accommodating, friendly and eager to help. They also had great knowledge of the town and surrounding areas and were eager to answer any questions we had. The hotel is located not more than a 3 minute walk from the beach and is located in the heart of Samara and surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. Overall, our stay was fantastic and I will be back, for sure.

Having never been to Samara I was a bit nervous but I also knew that the Residencias Samara were relatively new so I was excited. From the moment I made the reservation to the moment I checked in, the staff was so extremely helpful and personable. The fully furnished residences were well stocked with everything one would need if you so decided to dine in and the room was great. Smart TVs and good wifi was present, a comfortable living area and balcony and the bed was super comfortable. There is a nice pool area that is open until late in the event you don't want to leave the premises. It is gated and secure and I never felt any sense of danger (and I'm a NYer). The residences are conveniently located and you can walk to great dining and the beach in a matter of minutes. Everything is close by. The staff, especially Clea and William responded to any inquiries or concerns quickly and the owner/proprietor, Kieran came by and made sure everything was great. I fell in love with the pueblo pequeno of Samara and plan to return for sure. Definitely consider making Residencias Samara your choice should you decide to visit Samara. I'm so very happy I did!

I have been traveling to Guanacaste for 30 plus years and this is the best place I have ever stayed. From the walkability, the comfortable beds, the helpful staff and fully stocked apartments are outstanding. I highly recommend. I am already working on my trip back. I stayed for 3 nights last week and absolutely loved the hotel. My 1 bedroom unit was spacious and equipped with everything I needed. The pool was super clean and pretty, especially at night when it was all lit up. The staff lead by Will, Lucy and Clea were so helpful and attentive. And the best part was it was walking distance to the beach and to town so we did not need a car. In will definitely stay there again.

Excellent location. Beautiful rooms. Wonderful and friendly staff. We couldn’t be happier with our stay. Everything from the beach to the restaurants are all easy walking distance. The small village of Playa Samara has all that you would want or expect in a laidback surfer community.
