So ein großes Team, extrem freundlich sie haben gerade die Zimmer und Hotel renoviert Die Mocktails waren erstaunlich Das Essen ist extrem gut, ich habe meine örtlichen Freunde zum Abendessen und zum Mittagessen eingeladen und sie sprachen darüber am nächsten Tag, was immer ein gutes Zeichen ist. Ich würde sicherlich noch einmal bleiben, das einzige, was ich sagen würde, ist, dass die Betten/Matratzen extrem fest sind. Aber alles andere ist perfekt 👌

Needs attention as it is run down and not the lovely grand hotel you expect from the outside (how it used to be)and I appreciate this is a small city hotel but very expensive for a room without breakfast the decor is tatty and although it is a 100 % no smoking hotel the corridors near our room smelt of smoke Car parking was a nightmare with limited space ( all full) and because we arrived after 8p/m the multi storey was closed and the nearest car park was short stay only the very helpful lady in reception let us park in a staff area but you have to pay The room was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable Papers were said to be included in room price but you had to go to reception to pick one up and there were only independent papers no choice of any others There must have been a large party on as breakfast was laid up in the reception/foyer area which wasn’t very nice Such a shame this hotel needs some love really disappointed that Mercure have let it get so run down

Das Zimmer ist sehr komfortabel. Das Licht ist genug, das Zimmer ist wenigstens mäßig. Die Rezeption ist gut, gut, höflich Das Zimmer ist gut geräuschlos. Hotelplatz ungefähr 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt vom Bahnhof Es gibt Geschäfte/Bequeme-Shops in der Nähe

Sehr gute River Landschaft, die Essensumgebung ist sehr gut, das Frühstück und das Abendessen sind sehr schön. Sehr geeignet für Familientouren, die Tochter mag dieses Hotel sehr gut. Wir sind verliebt und verlassen uns nicht.

Schönes Hotel. Übernachten nach einer Damen-Tagesreise nach Salisbury Rennen. Die Bar schließt um 11 Uhr so nicht in der Lage, einen Drink zu bekommen, wenn wir zurück sind und keine Zimmerservice, die etwas enttäuschend ist, aber es gibt eine Bar und schöne Außenterrasse und Garten, die früher am Tag geöffnet war. Stylische, komfortable Zimmer und Badezimmer und eine schöne Wahl zum Frühstück, obwohl £15 extra, die auf einem £200 pro Nacht Aufenthalt ich denke hätte enthalten sein sollen. Insgesamt ein schöner Ort zu bleiben und würde zurückkehren.

Ich hatte im Voraus für 3 Nächte 2 Einzelzimmer gebucht. Das klappte tip top. Jedoch waren unsere Zimmer weit auseinander: meine Kollegin im Haupthaus, Zimmer Nr. 53 und ich musste den Eingang «Cross Keys» benützen, der sich gleich rechts befindet, wenn man in den Innenhof kommt. Da stand ich vor 12 Stufen und musste meinen Koffer selber hinauf tragen. Danach kamen nochmals 12 Stufen, welche noch etwas enger schienen und am Schluss nochmals drei. Mein Zimmer Nr. 47 lag auf die Strasse raus, doch der Lärm war wirklich kein Thema. Das Zimmer roch etwas nach abgestandener Luft und alten Möbeln, aber es war sonst ok. Zum Glück konnte das Fenster gekippt werden. TV funktionierte, im Schrank hatte es ein Bügelbrett, im Bad war ebenfalls alles ok, ausser dass der Ofen für die Tücher nie warm wurde. Geschlafen habe ich gut, die Matratze war ebenfalls gut. Nach der ersten Nacht hatten meine Kollegin und ich plötzlich keinen Zugang mehr und unsere Karte musste «neu geladen» werden. Sollte eigentlich nicht passieren. Wir hatten ohne Frühstück gebucht, weil es in der Stadt genug Möglichkeiten gibt. Die Negativpunkte sind folgende: - enge, etwas steile Treppen zu Zimmer 47 + 53 - die Türen können nicht leise geschlossen werden und machen ziemlichen Lärm - der Haartrockner ist in der Schublade vom Schreibtisch befestigt - Kollegin hatte im Zimmer 53 kein WLAN - im Zimmer 47 funktionierte das WLAN gut, jedoch musste man sich ca. jede Stunde wieder neue verbinden (auch in der Lobby) - die beiden Handdesinfektions-Spender im Innenhof waren leer - morgens vor 8 Uhr kein Kofferträger vorhanden (zu wenig Personal?) Am Abreisetag (25.05.22) war eine sehr unfreundliche, junge Frau an der Rezeption, die kein Wort sagte sondern so schaute, als würde sie sagen, «nicht schon wieder jemand». Das ist absolut inakzeptabel für ein 4 Stern Hotel und schädigt dem Hotel mehr als etwas anderes. Sie hatte sich nicht einmal bei uns bedankt. Positiv war, dass - das Hotel zentral gelegen ist - das Hotel in derselben Strasse liegt, wo die Busse nach Stonehenge abfahren - das Personal der Hotelbar freundlich war Ich bin nicht ganz sicher, ob ich wieder hier buchen würde, obschon das Hotel eigentlich sehr britisch und urig ist.

Quite how this property has gained 5 stars is inexplicable. I can only think that the owners wrote the reviews themselves. I understand that the hotel has changed hands recently. We booked with the original proprietors and were not informed of the change before arrival. We were told that breakfast would be served in a separate establishment, Hettie Bells, located nearby. They neglected to tell us that this is a grubby pub and that the breakfast area is little more than a station cafe serving limited and unappealing fare! The room itself was fine though small and very noisy. Earplugs were left in the room for use by guests! The carpet was stained. The entrance to the room was via a dirty, smelly hallway which was extremely off putting on arrival. This was altogether an experience I do not wish to repeat.

Everything was amazing, starting from the checin process, cleanliness, amenities in the room. Very close to Stonehenge and would definitely recommend to families.

We stayed for 2 nights, family of 3 adults and 2 children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the apartment loft with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. The room was clean when we arrived, a cot and highchair was already in the room and there was even a baby blanket which was a lovely touch. My eldest son slept on the sofa bed which was more than adequate for him however I would say this is only suitable for a child. We all slept very well, the beds were comfy and despite it being on the main road it was extremely quiet inside. I will definitely stay here again when we come and visit for our yearly family trip. If you stay during the warmer months then I would suggest bringing a portable fan, the air coolers provided aren’t great but we did bring our own fans and slept with the windows open. Everything you need is provided. A fabulous stay.
