We stayed two nights in the pavilion, lovely suite, lake view, well appointed. We called in advance to upgrade and got quoted the rate and approved. Nothing was done unfortunately, so we had to go through it all again at check in, thankfully there were still other rooms available but we couldn't reproduce the quoted rate on the phone. Check in was otherwise smooth, the bellhop was fabulous and we proceeded explore the grounds before going to the bar after settling into our room. Mid afternoon service was ok, they didn't recognize my wife's order though it's right there on their list. Eventually they found it. The next afternoon we had a similar experience when service stopped on the floor during their daily briefing as we wanted our server and two tables sat down and waited. Seems silly not to leave someone out just after check in time. Breakfast both days was ok. Service was prompt and professional, food was pretty good. Skip the french toast as it's mostly bread, cut too thick and not drenched long enough. We took the romantic helicopter tour about 25 minutes away for 20 minutes which included a $200 rebate to the hotel. This was tremendous and made for amazing videos and the pilot was lovely and friendly. Their booking process was a little challenged but it all worked out in time. They're very busy all year and should be reserved as far in advance as you can. For dinner we decided to go à la carte and build our own tasting menu. The cost for two with cocktails, apps, bottle of wine, mains, cheese plate, desserts, digestifs and coffee was $500 all in. A solid value. Here service needed improving, with menu knowledge and experience, I'm sure it's a work in progress, like the menu. The lunch menu doesn't have a couple of basics which is all it needs. Our sommelier Serge, was very charming and made the evening. As a side note, drink service doesn't need to be regimented. Another bright note was Caroline at the front desk, she earned the gold keys on her lapel. She knew her stuff and was our go-to for every concierge need we had. Overall I absolutely recommend this hotel and will probably stay there again. However we found the same or better value and service at the Manoir Hovey and the Tremblant Fairmont recently
