I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your Best Western located in St. Charles, IL on June 22nd, and the subsequent handling of my refund request. My experience at your establishment was far below the standard I would expect from a reputable hotel chain like Best Western. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the room was in desperate need of renovation. The walls showed signs of peeling paint and poorly done patchwork, which was disappointing but manageable for a single night's stay. However, the situation deteriorated quickly. During a walk around the property, I encountered uncollected trash and was dismayed to find the pool filled with green, stagnant water containing floating debris. Later in the evening, the situation escalated further when I discovered the occupant in the adjacent room engaged in disruptive behavior, drinking in the corridor and leaving multiple beer bottles scattered about. Despite reporting this to the front desk, the disturbance persisted until management intervened. Regrettably, my girlfriend felt unsafe due to the behavior of the neighboring guest, prompting us to leave the hotel prematurely. We immediately requested a refund upon departure and were assured by the night manager that the matter would be resolved promptly. However, it took numerous follow-up calls and over nine days to receive any acknowledgement, and I have yet to see the refund reflected in my credit card statement. I spoke with the assistant manager today, July 1st, who confirmed that the refund request had been processed but failed to provide any documentation or confirmation of the transaction. As of 8 PM, I still have not received the promised email receipt. This entire experience has been deeply disappointing and has left me questioning Best Western's commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence. As a result, I have decided never to patronize Best Western hotels in the future. I insisted on immediate action to process my refund without further delay and expect confirmation of its completion. I have yet to get my refund.
