Best Western Inn of St. Charles

This motel showed 4 stars but it's 2.5 stars at the most. It was... fair. The rooms were clean... enough. The flimsy bath towels might as well have been 40-grit sandpaper. The pool wasn't open, Sunday breakfast ended way too early at 9:00 am, the desk clerk felt a little bit creepy, and the outdoor hallways had orange gunk throughout (see the photos). It's just a cheap 2.5-star motel.

This Best Western is a dump. It had filthy carpeting in the halls and rooms, the rooms smelled like food and urine. It was so disgusting and unclean we did not stay. We were there for a family gathering and 6 rooms were NOT going to be used here. Filthy and Best Western should close this place down.

This place is a dump. Shabby dated decor, thin scratchy towels, noisy ventilation unit, minmal wifi. To make things worse on the night I stayed the carpet in my room was wet, which I sadly didn't realize until getting ready for bed. Once I got into bed all four pillows turned out to be damp! I called the night clerk who could not find a dry pillow and brought me a folded up mattress pad instead. Complained to the front desk in the morning, was told the manager would call me. He didn't. So if you do go be sure to check things out as soon as you get in the room!

The pool has weeds growing in it, broken concrete and no water. Pictures do not represent the neglected property and dirty interior. My socks turn black walking on room carpet. Friends say the BW st Charles pool has been neglected for years. Breakfast is same rubbery eggs every morning.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your Best Western located in St. Charles, IL on June 22nd, and the subsequent handling of my refund request. My experience at your establishment was far below the standard I would expect from a reputable hotel chain like Best Western. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the room was in desperate need of renovation. The walls showed signs of peeling paint and poorly done patchwork, which was disappointing but manageable for a single night's stay. However, the situation deteriorated quickly. During a walk around the property, I encountered uncollected trash and was dismayed to find the pool filled with green, stagnant water containing floating debris. Later in the evening, the situation escalated further when I discovered the occupant in the adjacent room engaged in disruptive behavior, drinking in the corridor and leaving multiple beer bottles scattered about. Despite reporting this to the front desk, the disturbance persisted until management intervened. Regrettably, my girlfriend felt unsafe due to the behavior of the neighboring guest, prompting us to leave the hotel prematurely. We immediately requested a refund upon departure and were assured by the night manager that the matter would be resolved promptly. However, it took numerous follow-up calls and over nine days to receive any acknowledgement, and I have yet to see the refund reflected in my credit card statement. I spoke with the assistant manager today, July 1st, who confirmed that the refund request had been processed but failed to provide any documentation or confirmation of the transaction. As of 8 PM, I still have not received the promised email receipt. This entire experience has been deeply disappointing and has left me questioning Best Western's commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence. As a result, I have decided never to patronize Best Western hotels in the future. I insisted on immediate action to process my refund without further delay and expect confirmation of its completion. I have yet to get my refund.

I travel to St Charles for over night business once a month if not more for about 10 years. I stay at this facility every time. I get a good night sleep there .

I liked that there was no carpet in the room. Air conditioner was pretty noisy. Towels have seen better days (yellowed). There is a group of water tower painters that stay here for months at a time. Every evening they were gathered in the parking lot drinking alcohol and playing games. They weren't overly loud, but they did block parking spots by our room. They were outside until 10:30 or so each evening. When I reserved the room online I had requested a quiet room. That request was ignored apparently. Breakfast was just okay. Second morning the bacon tasted off, maybe old? Price was right, but I guess you get what you pay for.

From the pictures of the room we thought it was good size but when we got there the room was smaller. The sheets had a strange texture feel, the bathroom towels had brown stains on them

BED BUGS! Fridge not properly working. Rude manager. I was lied to about proper room checks for bugs, cleanliness or issues. I checked out shortly after I checked in. I was promised a refund that I am still waiting for. I had to throw out the majority of my belongings.
