Mount Edgcumbe

Stayed here for one night in August in a suite. the room was a good size and very clean. the bed was comfortable and breakfast was lovely. there was no fridge in the room but as we only stayed for one night we didn't mind. the hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the bars and restaurants.

The room (suite?) was generously proportioned in every respect, tastefully decorated and very comfortable - the easiest room to enjoy spending time in that we can remember. And everything worked! The restaurant was very pleasant, the food excellent and the staff lovely. And, of course, the location is perfect, surrounded by trees a few hundred yard easy walking to Tunbridge Wells' tourist attractions.

Always enjoy staying here when visiting family in TW. Lovely unique rooms and blessing to have air conditioning too! Breakfast is excellent! We were able to securely store our bags before checkin as we were early, all the staff super helpful.

What a lovely find! We travelled all of 6 miles from Tonbridge to celebrate our 53rd anniversary with a night away, and this small hotel did not disappoint. As soon as we arrived, finding it in a sylvan glade not far from the town centre, but seemingly in the countryside, we found this charming old hotel to be the warmest place. From our greeting on arrival by Martin to our helpful morning server Thomas and Merry on our checkout, all the staff were brilliant. Our room (number 1) was at the front, with a big bay window looking over the nearby woods. Huge bed (slightly hard for us), great decor, nice shower, and quiet at night even though the A264 is a short distance away. Breakfast was very good - I luxuriated in the eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise on toasted muffin. The dining room is a lovely feature - light and airy, with the possibility of dining out on the terrace. We wished we had dined there instead of in an over-rated place in the Pantiles. However, in the evening we enjoyed a delicious cocktail on the terrace before going out. We were recommended to return during the winter months and that is definitely on the cards!!

Lovely 2 night stay here. The rooms are comfortable and well done. Great shower in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast included. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Not perhaps the best place if stairs are an issue though. A comfortable place to stay and great value.

The hotel gave us a really pleasant stay. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and air conditioned if needed. We appreciated the extra space having been travelling for awhile. The hotel also has a really pleasant dining area and beer garden with an outlook onto the village green. Happy to recommend!

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Beautiful decor, quirky and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Great value for money! We will be sure to stay again if we are in the area. Quirky, very well presented and a beautifully designed and styled new dining area, looking over the edge of Royal Tunbridge Wells common. The room was spacious, clean with a welcome a/c unit. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive and all very likeable. The location is perfect for exploring the numerous historic houses and preserved railways in the area. Oh, and the food is perfect, not too fussy, rustic, generous portions and within everyone’s budget. It is obviously popular with the local clientele, so book early. I can’t fault it!

We really enjoyed very much our stay at The Mount Edgecumbe Hotel at Royal Tunbridge Wells: privileged location with lovely garden, beautifully decorated and comfortable room, well equipped modern bath, perfect breakfast with lots of choice, excellent meals in the evenings in the carefully designed restaurant. Most important: the friendly and courteous service. Even the forgotten shirts and pullover were sent to our home address without extra charge - thank you very much indeed. We can highly recommend the Mount Edgecumbe Hotel.
