Fairfield Inn & Suites Belle Vernon

Excellent experience. Very clean, comfortable, modern property. Good AAA Room Rate. Room #406 - Double Queen - On Quiet Side of Hotel, away from highway. Hotel built in 2017. Convenient location near Charleroi, Belle Vernon, California, PA. Near locally-owned and chain restaurants, Walmart shopping area and close to highway. Felt safe, a relatively livelier area than some other area hotel options. We found this was the best hotel in the area, and very competitive room rates. The staff was fantastic. Prior to my visit, Sharon at the front desk helped me figure out the best room and side of hotel to avoid highway noise. (Facing front of hotel, left side away from highway. We had Double Queen #406). Hotel is by I-70, highway truck noise may be an issue. We noted this in our reservation. At check-in, Edwin front desk was very helpful with restaurant ideas and more specifics about best room for us with least noise. Rachel and Darwin in housekeeping were helpful and did a great job with our clean room. The gym was clean and spacious (treadmills, elliptical, free weights, medicine balls), as were the common areas. The cookies were a nice touch. Breakfast could include healthy, hot plain oatmeal. Plentiful coffee, tea and breakfast. We had a car tire problem. Sharon & staff helped us find repair shops -- Walmart Tire Center & Big G Tire (AAA approved). The hotel was for sale in October 2024, a management change maybe on the horizon.

This hotel has a very friendly staff, pristine rooms abd is located near plenty of restaurants and shopping. Beautiful room, especially for the price, and we slept very comfortably in a quiet environment. Free breakfast was included with our reservation.

We stayed one night while traveling to a grandchild's sporting event. The hotel we are pretty sure was sold out and very busy. We checked-in with no problems. the room was comfortable and staff helped out with extra towels and items we needed to accommodate us. The room with two queen beds and a fold out sofa bed was perfect for us and the grandchildren. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Even as busy as the hotel was the staff kept the breakfast area well stocks and ready for all the many guests.

The room room was clean. Front desk agent was welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was a real disappointment, just a mess, everything was emptied out before breakfast closing time. Breakfast attendant just ignored my request.

This hotel is noisy. It is close to I-70 and you can expect to hear traffic noise all night. Maintenance is poor - we had a toilet that ran every time you used it, caulking in the shower showed mold, there were full panels of wallpaper missing, walls in the breakfast area are in need of paint, and the signs indicating exits and stairwells are worn nearly to the point of illegibility. The staff didn't seem to care about wearing uniforms or name tags or any indication that they worked there. And the breakfast buffet was poor - premade "waffles" and something I couldn't identify, all wrapped in cellophane; further, the trash can at breakfast was full to overflowing. This property needs a sound barrier wall, a cleanup, a revamp of breakfast, and a sense of pride in their workplace.

Do not stay here! There is an active bed bug infestation. We saw a family complaining at the front desk and saw bites on the necks of a woman and her daughter. My daughter and I arrived late after attending a concert in Pittsburgh. We had checked-in online because we did not want to be characterized as “no shows.”The woman at the front desk told me that (unbeknownst to me) her co-worker had called me to say they had no rooms available, but that she just had a cancellation and she had a room for us. (Upon return home, I did have a voicemail on my landline stating that there had been a burst water pipe and they were full up, but they had not cancelled it on my Marriott app. We saw no evidence of a burst pipe.) As we were going to the elevator my daughter overheard a family in the lobby in their PJs waiting to speak with the front desk and someone had said the word “bugs.” As we went up the elevator, my daughter quickly looked online at Google reviews which had 3 entries in the last 7 days regarding a live bed bug infestation. We went to the room and attempted to check the mattresses, but decided to leave immediately. We left the key with the woman at the front desk who was then speaking with the aforementioned family in their PJs. We told her we were leaving. She did not ask why but later cancelled our reservation on line. As we were getting in our car the mother and daughter in the PJ-clad family approached us and asked “do you mind telling us why you are leaving.” We told them that we overheard them and found Google reviews indicating a live bed bug infestation. The mother and daughter then told us they had been eaten alive by bugs the night before and the daughter showed us her swollen neck. I am a Platinum Bonvoy member and wanted to report this to Marriott and to leave a review to warn others. Because the reservation was cancelled in the system, I was told by a Bonvoy representative that all they can do is report my story to the hotel. There is no way for me to leave a review on the Marriott site. But I feel obliged to leave a review here in hopes that others will be forewarned.

I am a lifetime Titanium, I have achieve this status by being loyal the Marriott Hotels for over 20 years of travels, and over 2,000 nights in hotels. Yes, most of my stays have been paid by my work travels. With that said, there are times when traveling you planned travel plan change due to your scheduled visits. Well, this particular hotel decided that they wanted to still charge me even after the Marriott Team cancelled my room to avoid the room charge. The hotel even told Marriott Program that their policy is to charge if your room is not cancelled 24 hours before your check in time. Well, for this reason you got me for 1 night charges, but if my business travels bring me to your area again, I will avoid your hotel. This single room charge earned you zero loyalty to your site. I hope you enjoy your 1 night billings from me. Loyal Marriott Titanium Guest who feels screwed by this Fairfield Inn.

It is a nice hotel, no doubt. But beware where your room is located. The back side of the hotel is extremely close to the interstate running right behind it. All night long, you can hear that traffic with the occasional blast of an airbrake from a trucker. I am coming back up there in two weeks and although would have loved to have stayed here, I am staying somewhere else. I would be cautious of a lot of the hotels located on Finley Road for this reason. You might stand a chance at Holiday Inn Express that sits forward of this mess. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to build this hotel where it sits. Try Bentleyville down the road for a hotel location. If you can ensure your room is front side, then it may be ok.

After spending one noisy night and experiencing a truly terrible breakfast, I'm looking for another hotel. There's a buffet, of sorts. No fresh bread, just individually wrapped English muffins or bagles. There's a wrapped egg & cheese thing, hard boiled eggs that I hope are from this week. The waffles are also not fresh. I'm just hoping that it doesn't make me ill. Typical American coffee, weak and generic. The room itself was clean and the linen was fresh. Don't like the $5/day wifi, but I guess it's a business expense for me.
