This review isn't about this specific hotel, where we stayed, but is more about a pricing issue by the parent company. The hotel was fine, and the staff was polite. They were unable to resolve this issue. The problem was that we were charged $387 for the room, and it was not worth anything close to that price. I wanted to share this as a cautionary tale for others. Several months ago, planning for a family wedding in Sacramento in June, I reserved and paid for in advance a two queen room at the Homewood Suites, Roseville. We stayed there this past Saturday night, June 15th, I was stunned and disturbed to find out that my advance payment rate was about $200 more than if I had simply reserved it on line through ******* or just reserved it without paying in advance through Hilton Honors. The prepaid charge- $378.07; Hilton charge if I reserved today for this Saturday- $269. if I go on Expedia--$182. To some extent, it was my own fault, because it clearly stated this was a non-refundable fee. so I am warning others by my error. It seems unconscionable to charge people MORE if they pay in advance. I think, at the minimum, the hotel should inform customers that the reserved and paid in advance rate is far more than the normal rate.

It was a nice little apartment with all needed accommodations. It was clean and I appreciated that the cleaning staff was quiet and did not try and wake us up to clean our room. The receptionist at the front desk was very pleasant and we ended up have a great laugh about my husband and the cookies offered. We will be back next year for the same event.

Our stay was a perfect overnight stay. Their check-in is at 3 pm (earlier than usual) and check-out is at 4 pm (later than usual). The hotel was sold out for the night but didn't feel like it. There was plenty of seating at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! We had a studio queen room. So the room felt spacious and it was nice to have a kitchenette and seating and tables in the room. I would stay here again and again!

There is something very wrong with operations at Homewood Suites Roseville. Management and employees have no idea of the concept of service. Prior to my stay, I saw there were plenty of negative comments in reviews. I called up the hotel and mentioned the negative reviews. I was told that there was new management, and all the negatives took place during the previous management. My big mistake was believing that, because I experienced firsthand the same problems mentioned in the reviews. I have been a Hilton Honors member for a number of years and never experienced these types of problems at a Hilton Hotel before. Something is terribly wrong with Homewood Suites Roseville. I reserved a queen suite for two nights. When making the reservations, I specifically stated that there would be a total of three people in the room. Upon arrival, the room had only two bath towels and the sofa bed had no blanket or sheets. I called the front desk and asked if there was a mix up in my room assignment because the set up appeared to be for two people. I was told that I had the right room and if I needed a third set of towels and blankets/sheets for the sofa bed, I could come to the front desk to pick it up. I was told that making the sofa bed was not their responsibility. I couldn’t believe that! I originally chose to stay at this hotel because it had a fitness center and coin laundry, and I like to work out and wash my clothes when travelling. When I asked about the location of the coin laundry, I was told, “Sorry it is not available due to recent vandalism”. When I asked about any other arrangements, the front desk employee suggested I go wash my clothes at the next-door Marriott. That’s crazy, if I use the Marriott laundry, I should be staying there! I have been to two other Hilton Hotels when there was a problem with the coin laundry, and the hotel manager took the initiative to send my laundry out. Now that’s the sign of a good manager to make good on a service which was temporarily unavailable due to circumstances beyond his/her control. Homewood Suites Roseville charged me $200+ per night, and it is definitely not worth the value. I would not stay there again, and I don’t think anyone should.

Booked and selected room (great feature) using Hilton Honors app. Made the long drive to hotel. Although app mentioned ability to go directly to room using digital key, chose to check in at front desk instead. Was surprised to hear that the room I selected was not available due to "lingering odor." I asked about the other room that was available at the time of booking and again was told that room was also not available. They said no other King one-bedroom suites were available so they had to downgrade me to a Queen studio room. I asked why I wasn't notified immediately before I arrived and was told they were just made aware of those rooms' conditions. Fine, not the room we wanted but okay.....so I asked whether some Rewards Points would be reimbursed and was told points were the same for King/Queen rooms. I then mentioned that the price of the Queen room was a lower rate than the King but price was not adjusted. Check-in experience was very poorly handled, unwelcoming, and quite frustrating! After receiving the bill via email the next morning, it was disappointing to see that no price adjustments were made for the "downgraded" room. So I went to the front desk and spoke with Sarah(?) to explain the situation. She listened attentively and was able to accommodate us to our satisfaction.....much appreciated! However, a pleasant experience should have started from beginning to end. Especially since according to Hilton, "it matters were you stay." The room, lobby, fitness center, and grounds were clean. Good selection of breakfast items. Close proximity to shopping, restaurants, activities.

I’ll start off by saying I’m not sure why people rate this hotel so badly. I saw some bad reviews but I’m glad I disregarded them. The hotel seemed new and the room seemed clean. the room was also nice and large and the hotel has a nice pool, hot tub, and basketball hoop, the hotel is also in a great location right across from the galleria.
