The First Musica

Stayed for one night and really wished we could’ve stayed longer. This is a beautiful hotel with excellent rooms, a fabulous rooftop cocktail bar and wonderful staff! We will definitely stay here again when next in Rome. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to Rome, meaning the standard and location of our hotel was of paramount importance. The First Musica is an exceptional hotel in the Prati district of Rome. It’s a great location to explore all parts of Rome and is (thankfully) not in the middle of the tourist spots meaning it’s a welcome escape from the bustle. The front-of-house staff are outstanding - extremely friendly, welcoming with the highest attention to detail. They helped recommend great restaurants and ensured every aspect of our stay was catered for. Likewise, the staff in the rooftop bar and restaurant were brilliant and although we were only there a few days, we felt like old friends. All aspects of the hotel are of the highest standard and represents great value for money. If there was one thing I’d improve, and it’s a tiny point, I’d increase the water pressure in the shower! It’s a little weak - but that’s about the only thing I could see that needs improving.

The rooms and location are quite nice, the staff is also very kind and helpful, however, the service is very slow, maybe due to understaffing. We tried ordering room service at a regular time during the day (12:30pm), we couldn’t get ahold of anyone on the line. No one answered our several calls made to the different room service numbers. Breakfast options are very limited, no buffet (which is quite odd for a 5-star hotel). We have stayed at hundreds of hotels and have never had a hotel that advertises room service but takes hours to take an order. Overall, I would recommend choosing another hotel for a true 5star experience, as this is more similar to other 4 stars we have stayed in in Rome.

The hotel is one of the best hotels in Rome. The room size is quite spacious in comparison to most hotels in Rome. They are very luxurious as well. The service could not be better, and the location is perfect (in the exact centre). I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, my only regret was not trying their breakfast, their restaurant is amazing. Special thanks to the front desk manager Wael El Keblawi for being so helpful and understanding, I’ve never felt so welcome in a hotel!

Brand new. Modern and Comfortable rooms with great views. Excellent beds, linens, pillows & sleep quality, and above all fantastic personalized service from all the staff. Special thanks to Caterina at front desk. Will come back and recommend to anyone travelling to rome.

First of all thanks to Karines and Francesca from reservation department as well to Lorenza the event manager who made this stay possible after we had to change the check-in dates. Small boutique hotel next to Tiber river with panoramic windows.No noise from outside.Perfect check in and luggage service.Very kind staff in reception.Doorman very prompt.Does not serve lunch.24h Room service available however. Located next to main attractions of Roma as well as the new Bulgari hotel with its amazing outdoorterrace. Large corner room.Very clean . Gorgeous partial openair terrace with heaters and panoramic views Why only 4 review points?: 1)housekeeping forgot water on check-in which they supplied however later on as well as next days. 2)Breakfast is served on small table and makes Staff as well as guests loose a lot of time....Buffet please. 3)Dinner staff needs much more training,very unprofessional.We felt forgotten as they were busy to serve a table with 8 people.....Nobody did care,they even forgot the desert...We cancelt dinner for the next day.

The view could not be beaten for this price range, and the windows were sound proof (no street noise waking you up after a long trip from across the pond) but that's about all that stands out. The carpet had spots, the bathroom was tiny with next to no counter space or towel racks. The shower drain was funky and got water on the bathroom floor. The front desk told us over email they could hold our bags after check out for 2 nights, then upon check in they said they could not, then upon check out (after I made other arrangements) they said it would be no problem. Wish they were a bit more clear up front. Skip eating at the restaurant for dinner - have drinks up at the bar instead - Sunset was beautiful, although at sunset in November (4:30-45) the bar was closed... they let us sit up there to enjoy the view - would be nice to allow for basic service when the sun sets early. The restaurant was over priced and not memorable except for the window into the prep kitchen - fun to watch them prep the fresh cut prosciutto and seafood appetizers. Several great restaurants can be found within walking distance nearby. Breakfast in the restaurant was very expensive, but again... those views are spectacular! and a traditional Breakfast is a bit hard to come by in Rome.

Just returned from our vacation and The First Musica was our first stop after landing in Rome. The staff's greeting was wonderful as the tired American's arrived in the early morning and they made sure we were taken care of immediately with a flawless airport transfer, never touched our luggage, a bottle of water, smiles and a hotel tour upon arrival. It was a perfect location for us to be outside of the masses yet within 15 minute radius to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. I think we somehow walked well over 20k steps the first day! The upstairs restaurant and bar area are an added plus with great views of the city and the rooms were very nicely sized with lots of amenities and an appreciated turndown service!

Just finished a five night stay at The First Musica and I must say I loved everything. The hotel is situated in the sophisticated Prati neighbourhood and there are just short walks to the luxury stores, Campo Marzio boutique district and the Castroni gourmet store. Not to mention the Spanish steps, Castello Sant´Angelo and Pantheon. The golden-hued hotel looks inviting already from the outside and inside there are the dreamily elegant rooms plus the top-floor restaurant with a unique view of the river and the monuments of Rome. Skip the earlier comments about inexperienced staff; these people know exactly what running a luxury hotel is about. Rooms are super clean and perfectly functional. A new generation of hotels and shops now make the eternal city feel more dynamic than Milan. Already looking forward to my next visit.
