I recently stayed at the Mercure Centro Roma Termini from November 4-8, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected as a Gold member with Accor. I’ve stayed at several Accor properties before and have always enjoyed the perks and recognition that come with my loyalty status, but this stay left me feeling like just another guest. To start, despite notifying the hotel of my early arrival time, I had to wait until the official check-in time to get access to my room, which felt unnecessary and inconsiderate. This lack of flexibility was the first sign that my expectations were not going to be met. There was also no recognition of my Gold status upon check-in—no room upgrade, no welcome drink, nothing. I even went out of my way to recommend this hotel to a couple of friends who were traveling with me, based on my previous positive experiences with Accor. Unfortunately, I now regret that decision. They too were underwhelmed by the lack of perks and attention given to loyal members like ourselves. When I asked about the missing benefits, the staff were dismissive and offered no real explanation. It was disheartening to see that a brand that prides itself on customer loyalty would treat its members this way. The room itself was fine, but certainly not impressive enough to make up for the disappointing service and lack of personalized attention. As a loyal Accor member, I expect more, and sadly, Mercure Centro Roma Termini fell short. For anyone considering this property, especially if you're a loyal member, I’d recommend managing your expectations. This stay was a letdown, and I’m now questioning whether I’ll continue to stay at Accor hotels in the future.
