Beautiful stay from start to finish was blown away by the gorgeous views overlooking the sea.. helped that the weather was gorgeous and we could sit outside! Rooms, really nice can tell have just been refurbished as stated lovely and quirky. Everything from the bed and pillows so comfortable. Free drink & espresso pods in the room. Perfect stay and good location to everything.. not far from Whitby/Scarborough and in perfect location in Robin Hoods Bay. The hotel had such lovely character. Breakfast was included and was gorgeous really enjoyed it. Hopefully we will be back!

The review I am giving is based on my two visits. First on Thursday 13th June and Saturday 15 th June 2024 . On the first visit the young bartender told us we could not book tables but to just come in later, on arrival there were tables with reservations on them. There was also a delay on food as we were told that the tickets had not gone through to the kitchen, the food was good that evening. On the second visit the older bartender booked a table no problem. That evening we ordered soup first which was tasty. The problem occurred on the second course when my wife was served a soggy undercooked cod fish which was sent back to be replaced. I think there are a few issues that need ironing out!

Total rip off. Ordered hand cut chips and skin on chips to go with our meal. Both came within ten minutes. Very obvious frozen chips. Skinny fries and chips. Awful. Not what we ordered or paid for. Food used to be good here. Now over priced and substandard. I don't expect to be served food that's not as described. Disgraceful

This is the 4th time we have visited and it gets better each time. The staff were fantastic from bar staff finding us a table at the quiz to the dinning room staff, cleaners and office staff. We had a few minor problems with poor seats and shelf space in the bedroom, other than that no worries. My only real criticism was the meals, although good they were not a patch on previous years, however I still enjoyed them. I cannot recommend the hotel more and will be back.

The hotel is in a commanding position, with views across the moorland and across the sea. The rooms are decorated lovely and are very clean. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile for the guests. It’s fast becoming my ‘go to’ for a getaway few days.

We had wanted to stay here previously but hadn’t had the chance. Prior to this we had visited the pub that was quite tired at the time. It feels a lot smarter now and like the hub of the community, both locals and guests were enjoying the pub side of the hotel. There is an area for well behaved dogs, it all seemed to be well organised and we were able to have a nice pub meal and drinks in comfort and didn’t get disturbed. The welcome was warm from the staff and it felt more like a family of people looking after us, a genuine Yorkshire welcome. The room and the bed were comfortable with lots of pillows and fluffy towels, nice Elemis toiletries and a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits in the room. We had a huge roll top bath, double shower with plenty of high pressure hot water. The dining room is beautiful, we enjoyed the food. Couldn’t fault it and the breakfast is cooked to order rather than buffet style. Definitely is the place to stay in RBH and I imagine a stunning place to have a celebration. The views of the terrace were outstanding even in November.

Couldn’t make the walk down to the beach with rest of family so me and hubby snuck into this beautiful little hotel just for a bite to eat the views are amazing and the staff very welcoming felt revived and human again after enjoying hot chocolate and scones

This hotel is in the loveliest of positions, we have been several times before in the last few years. The staff could not be faulted, so helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices are brilliant and they were happy to serve me an egg on toast instead of the breakfast menu. Good to see fruit available. We are in the bar both nights .. absolutely no complaints. The room was in the adjoining building in the attic .. very comfortable and part of a lovely little suite . Trying to think of negatives apart from two flights of stairs to our room there are none. What a lovely view from the restaurant!!
