Robe Marina Accommodation

We stayed here while traveling through South Australia, and we couldn't fault the accommodation itself: it's clean, comfortable, has plenty of amenities, and is close to the water. However, a week or so before the stay we received an email with the code to check in, along with a list of the MANY rules we HAD to obey or else face extra charges. While we fully understand that these rules (eg. noise curfew, don't trash the place, park in the designated bay) are needed, they could have been stated in a much nicer, less school teacher-like way (all in CAPS, red and harsh wording). We felt like we were back at school. Perhaps they've had bad guests in the past but we always leave a hotel room clean and are mindful of others, so having these rules shoved in our faces was quite insulting. One of the rules is to throw out your trash (or face a penalty) and do your own dishes - strange for a hotel, but okay. That would have been fine had there been a kitchen sink but we had to do the dishes in the bathroom sink where we'd brushed our teeth, etc. Doesn't seem hygienic and we couldn't help but wonder if the dishes we'd used were actually clean as they'd obviously been washed in the same way. At one point we wondered if the dishes and trash rule was for the hotel to save money on a cleaner - just have the guests do some of the work! Maybe it's just us, but this rules thing kind of spoiled our stay as we spent the whole time worrying if we'd be charged for doing something wrong.

We liked our stay at Robe Marina Apartments. The property was clean and well presented, and the checkin process worked really well. We appreciated the washer/dryer as we'd been on the road for over a week. It was cold and raining but the air-conditioning worked great and we had a pleasant night.

Quite large room and good location. Amenities 6/10- they have washing machine/ drier but no coffee machine. Just instant coffee and plain tea bags. Air conditioning works but room full of mozzies. Cleanliness 3/10. Mould on the curtains and around windows. Bed decorative pillows full of dust. Bed comfort 7/10. Quite firm but fine. Pillows 4/10. Good location.

We stayed at Robe Marina Accommodation in January 2021. We found the apartment to be very clean, modern and within walking distance to the main street. With the COVID outbreak, I was a little concerned about going to Robe, however this accommodation even had a disposable cover on the TV remote controller. The grout in the bathrooms was clean, which is often an area in hotels that has a build up of grime. The king-size bed was very comfy to sleep on and was not x2 single beds pushed together, as some hotels do. At the time we left Robe, we unfortunately realised we had left our own pillows there. Upon calling to follow this up when we were back in Adelaide, the owner offered to drop them off to our house a few weeks later when she was in Adelaide at no extra cost, despite me offering to pick them up from where she was staying in Adelaide. Overall, customer service, cleanliness and comfort all 10/10! We will definitely stay again.
