Matina Pefkos Aparthotel

Just back from an amazing 10 days, was so good we tried to book an extra four days, unfortunately the resort was fully booked which tells you all you need to know. The complex itself is beautiful and well laid out, two nice clean pools, enough sunbeds for everyone with out it being crowded, nice music coming from the pool bar without it being too loud or distracting. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, we had a small issue with the kettle and the shower head in our room and it was sorted quick as a flash. Room itself was spacious, fridge and freezer, microwave and hob, was also quiet, no noise coming from any of the bars or the entertainment. One little thing that I feel needs adding and that’s a curtain above the front door as it lets in light. Other than that can’t fault the rooms. On site supermarket which has all you require, although with it being on site it is a tad on the expensive side. A fantastic holiday and right on the beach, would highly recommend and would love to go back

Another FAB visit to Matina!! This was our 4th time visiting this lovely hotel. We just keep coming back for more. The first couple of times as a couple, the last couple of times with our little boy. This hotel ticks all the boxes, close to the beach, close to bars/restaurants, lovely pool areas, super clean spacious rooms, amazing staff. It is family friendly, we recommend to most people visiting Pefkos to stay here. The staff can not do enough for you and are so welcoming, especially the lovely People’s bar staff. The shop girls were lovely, welcoming my little boy in almost daily! (He loves the shop!) fully stocked. Amazing stay as always. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Pefkos

What a great place to stay! Great apartment overlooking the pool and also sea view. Everything you needed in the kitchen and spotlessly clean. Plenty of storage space and large rooms n the apartment. Really friendly staff and Very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. We ate in the Meltemi Restaurant and Peoples bar and both excellent food and a great choice. Early in the season but during the week more and more restaurants/bars in the area opened up. We would definitely visit again.

Sadly nothing what I expected was very disappointed with the overall apartment. Could do with being updated. Ants everywhere. My husband was bitten to death it was awful. Facilities ok and staff wonderful and food good. However cleanliness was clearly not top priority. Apartment was never swept or balcony, bin in bathroom was not emptied everyday, around the pool was never cleaned. Sadly I will not be returning. Much nicer accommodation further up the road.

We love the staff at Matina who make the holiday perfect - however the standard of the place has gone down terribly and needs a revamp - the rooms are in a shabby state and not comfortable - ants everywhere and the pool area needs attention for cleaning

The 1 bed apt is small for 3 ppl. Very little storage space. Dated. Unfortunately ours was overrun with ants in the beds, all over surfaces. It was reported but took several days to eradicate the problem. Not pleasant trying to sleep with ants crawling over you. The room was cursory cleaned daily but it was not a great job, only the floor seemed brushed and mopped. Towels and sheets changed only once in a week, which I guess might be ok for sheets but we requested fresh towels and were told only 1 change included. €3 for further changes/fresh towel? In a hotel? Never had that experience before. No basics provided in the room only toilet rolls. So we only used 3 cups and a spoon to make tea. No sponge or wash up sachet provided. Seems excessive to have to buy dishcloth and wash up liquid for 3 cups and a spoon! The maid calls early! Too early for us (10am) and when we said it was too early she pulled a face and said tom’w? But never came the next day. Ended up 3 days with no toilet bin change….not great. The pool was not very clean. Piles of grit on the pool floor around the edges and a lot of tiny particle debris floating in the pool. Once seen it was hard to unsee! On the plus side the staff were lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food in the pool bar and the restaurant were really good quality and good value. The shop was really well stocked and reasonable prices. The hotel location was great. 3 mins walk to beach, surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants and a short 5-6min walk (up hill) to the main drag with even more shops bars and restaurants. It’s a shame they just need to improve their cleaning standards really. Based on this visit I’m afraid I wouldn’t return or recommend.

Visited this hotel for 7 nights in August 24, 2 adults and our 12yr old daughter. It was clean and the pools and connected bars/restaurant were very good. This was our first visit to Greece so I have nothing to compare accommodation to. It was one room with three single beds, no double for us adults but it wasn't a major issue and we could push them together. Not having separate rooms for parents and daughter was a bit frustrating when getting ready but we managed it. Bathroom was basic and the shower curtain was a pain and slightly dangerous (the amount of times one of us nearly fell out the bath tub putting our hand out). However, we had looked for a low cost holiday and so we did not expect luxury, it was clean and the air con worked well and the beds were clean and comfortable. A great addition was having a well stocked supermarket on site that you could order food to your apartment (we had food and drink stocked in fridge ready for when we arrived). Location was undoubtedly perfect, 5 minutes from beach and on a road with many different restaurants to sample. Pefkos is a very small village, basically two main roads but it had more than enough restaurants, pools, bars for us. The beach and sea was just picture postcard perfect. We will be back in Pefkos next year and although not at the same place, this is only because we like to try different places.

We had an absolutely amazing holiday here beginning of August. Staff are all lovely and welcoming. Food was delicious. Shop next door is handy and we had a delivery for our arrival. Great location close to beach and to all other bars and restaurants in pefkos. My 5 year old loved the play area. Cleaners worked hard. Room was spotless and very comfortable!

This is my 2nd stay at Matina amd it did not disappoint. I travelled just me and my 5 year old son and we had the best week! The reception staff are brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. We had a studio room which are very spacious. Very well equipped, also USB ports in the socket by the bed is a great addition, they also have a c-charger port too. Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels and bedding when we required them. The housekeeping do a great job. The complex as a whole is kept very clean and well maintained. The pools are great, always managed to get a sun lounger. We ate at all of the onsite restaurants and all food was great especially meltemi. We also used the new roof top restaurant (shout out to George who is amazing) the views are beautiful. I have to say the staff here really are amazing, they recognised us from last year and welcomed us back. They really make you feel at home and look after you. My son loves Leo and George (also the ladies but can’t remember their names) stergos and fil at Matina bar are lovely people, kris in meltemi is also very lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff here. So much so we have already booked to return in October and July next year. We can’t wait to be back
