Gorgeous View Motel

My rating is based on similar budget motor lodges. The room was clean. Bonus points for the king size bed and lots of space in the room. The shower was clean, had hot water and enough towels. We would have appreciated a side table on both sides of the bed. The biggest factor that lost one star was that the room was super damp, uncomfortable damp. Hopefully it was just our room but for that reason we won’t be back. Also note that it’s a good 30 minute walk to town.

The used to be a brand of groceries called "no frills". Basic food, good quality, but simple packaging. Gorgeous view motel did have the view and otherwise no frills stay. Clean good basic room and service. Current renovation, newer floors fresh bedding. Shower was small but water hot and kept clean. Got a good nights sleep. No frills but just what i needed.

The drive was falling apart. The room was very neat, clean & fairly newly renovated. The sheets weren’t buttery soft, but I liked having a blanket & heavier quilted bedspread instead of a duvet- I find them too hot with no lesser option. The heater/ AC was efficient & quiet! The bathroom was very nice with numerous towels etc & a rack to put our toiletry bags on. Good view of the Lake. The proprietor wasn’t available when we were arriving, but she had been in touch by texting a couple of times & was able to give us the room door combination to get in when we arrived & gave us any other information we needed. The room door combination was great! No need to keep track of a key. They provided wood & a fire pit which we enjoyed greatly one evening. Written instructions for the 2 TV remotes might have been helpful. Not a luxury place, but a very clean, comfortable stay.

Does have a great view, nice rooms, excellent bed and beautiful shower. Its not a Holiday Inn but can be just what you need some days!! Near a highway but it was OK. Internet was good and had cable tv.

This was exactly what we were looking for - a moderate hotel with clean rooms, good comfy beds, and patio furniture to enjoy the morning sun. We came to the lake to be outside, not spend time in our room except for spare moments - a morning coffee, a night cap at the fire pit, etc. The price here was right, simple accommodations (no frills) with kind owners. Perfect for our Memorial Day weekend. We would come back.

The rooms at the top of the drive have a spectacular view of Senica Lake. One of the downfalls is the steep driveway that has a sharp turn with ruts. There are chairs in front of each of the 8 rooms. Far end has a fire ring with chairs available there as well. Hardwood floors. Clean room and bathroom. Small frig and microwave. No breakfast or snacks are provided or available. Even though you are up and away from traffic there is a lot of traffic noise. We enjoyed ourselves. Not far from town.

Very clean, great location and reasonable priced. Very basic but perfect for a clean place to rest your head after hiking or whatever. Owners are super nice. We have stayed here before and it gets better every time. We enjoy sitting at the fire pit which over looks the lake. 2 minutes to Watkins Glen state park and 30 minutes from Robert Trenton state park

Check in was very simple and easy, no keys or cards just a keycode to open the door.The manager Brenda was very pleasant and kept in communication with us before and during our stay. For the most part it was a pleasant stay for an older motel that had been recently updated. However many of the features explained on the website did not match what was actually available. There were no snacks in the fridge as said online. For the most part, the room was clean but the bedspreads and rugs had not been washed. They had many spots all over them. The bathroom needed towel racks and/or hooks and there just wasn’t enough convenient places to put toiletries etc. Hot water takes a log time to warm up and beds weren’t too comfortable either

We made a last minute plan to go to Watkins Glen this past weekend, and almost everything was booked. This motel had good reviews, so despite the $200 price per night for a room, we figured it was worth a try. And it was fine. Small, friendly staff, adequate. The driveway was terrifying at 10PM at night, because it's on a steep hill and you can't see the drop off behind you when backing out. The real question is: would we go back? The answer is yes, though I hope we'd be able to get a better deal if we plan ahead. At half the price, we would have thought "this is our new go-to spot".
