Amapas Apartments Puerto Vallarta - Adults Only

Pros: Great location (right near the Muertos pier) Great rooftop lounge chairs and dipping pool area (once they shocked the pool) One of the less-expensive alternatives for staying in Zona Romantica Cons: The furniture is not good - the couches are nigh-unusable for any period of time and there's a metal bar in between the cushions (on a two-seat love seat that doesn't appear to recline or fold out into a bed?). Also the bed mattress was quite hard and uncomfortable (so hard it hurt my hip if I slept on my side). Mattress toppers would be helpful here and cost very little. There was only one wall-mounted AC unit and it was in the main living area by the patio door leading outside. The two beds were far from it; one by the front door in an open area, and the primary/master was in a separate room. It was a trick of aerodynamics to try to arrange the fans they had in the room to get cool air to places that need it. This is probably less of a problem in the cooler months, but in October it's pretty warm and so much juggling was occurring.

Great place for a clean bed and bath! The location is very convenient to the beach, coffee, restaurants and everything you need or want. My space was a second floor studio with a comfy king bed, mini kitchen, GREAT AC and ceiling fan. Outside noise quieted down at a reasonable hour so I got good sleep. Roof top splash pool and space is great. Communications from staff was exceptional. All rooms face a street so a balcony isn’t really necessary.

Perfect location, the staff are super!! The apartment was clean. This is a great home base. The balcony with partial ocean view is super nice for people watching and amazing sunsets. I highly recommend this place. There are great restaurants and clubs nearby along with The Palms Cabaret less than a block away. The beach is bare foot walking distance.

My unit had spotty to non-existent wifi. They told me certain locations in the unit worked better but it was all the same. Second day their power & water were both off all day. No toilet / no shower. Had to use outside restaurant and public bathrooms for the day. One resident who came on the day of the outage told me she was given a bucket by staff to use as a toilet?! Staff were really nice and the view from patio was great & also good area to meet othes. Won't be back unfortunately. They also wanted a picture of my passport? I refused at first but they were adamant. I have never had that happen here. Just bad luck I guess as there are some great reviews but I won't be back here.

My favorite hotel in Puerto Vallarta!! I come to PV about 7-8 times per year. I have stayed at Amapas Apartments over 20 times and I absolutely love it!! I always book the 1 bedroom with partial ocean view. The apartment are spacious and I love the layout the bedroom is where you enter off a a quiet courtyard. Then there is a hall with a bathroom that opens up to a kitchen dining are and living area that leads to a balcony with chair overlooking the ocean. The furnishings are nothing luxurious but they are perfect especially for the low prices. The A/C is awesome and the tv has tons on channels in English. The staff is amazing and Jessica and Laszlo are there for anything you need. FYI there is no on site staff so call ahead and they will be there when you arrive. I can’t wait for my next stay in March. The only reason I would stay anywhere else in PV is if Amapas was full. I love it there and the location can’t be beat!!

Amapas Apartments Puerto Vallarta are perfectly located walking distance to the beach, restaurants, the and quintessential open air markets. The room was equipped with a full size refrigerator, gas stove, safe, efficient air conditioner and plenty of closet space. The check in process has room for improvement. It was unclear how to contact the on-site manager to check in. Currently, there is not a video camera or doorbell to alert the manager that guests have arrived and are waiting on the street to be let in. Once contact had been made, the manager and staff were most accommodating. Again, great location!!!

Great apartment right by Los Murrow Pier Pros: *Had a great view of the beach and Pier from small balcony ( had two chairs on it) *AC worked well entire place stayed cool ceiling fan over the bed *lots of storage for clothes , groceries etc *water pressure very good in shower *lots of CDN and US channels on TV *kitchenette equipped for making small meals( gas stove, fridge with small freezer for your ice,microwave . Had dishes, pots, pans *Great rooftop area with comfy chairs for sun bathing. Bathroom on roof that is kept very clean. Plunge pool was good ( press the button on the side of wall for jets to work in pool) Spent a few hours daily up there. Cons: *Wifi is strongest in bedroom, works at kitchen table in our unit but doesn’t work if too far away from outside hallway where wifi access points are strongest. Rooftop wifi works if your lounge chair closer to hallway. *Bed is hard …a foam topper or softer mattress would be great. Bed is a full in unit we had. Some units have king size but they were sold out . ( At minimum all hotels should have queens in my opinion) *There are no hair dryers, I have made that suggestion to the staff *Face clothes should also be provided Overall would stay here again, location is great, friendly staff. Loved the rooftop area. Sun and shade areas with umbrellas.Great spot. Seems to be popular as most people we met come for 3 or 4 months every winter. There are 19 units, no elevators.

Great service from Ivan who answered any and all questions we had. Pros: Bathroom had great water pressure Room was large and had darn near a full size fridge. Close to beach, like real close Best gelato across the street Worth the money, and it wasn’t even a lot of money. Cons: Pillows are soft and bed it firm Some room have balcony’s, others do not AC is in living room and you sleeping far away from that unit Rooftop “pool” is 6x3ft with no water movement. Take that as you wish Would I stay here again, absolutely no questions asked. We walked 20,000 steps a day exploring everywhere. And this location was great! PS the massage place to the right of the entrance avoid at all cost. If we could report it we would. Salud
