Quinta Maria Cortez

This was an amazing very authentic/quaint place to stay. Absolutely gorgeous. It beats resorts that look like anything you'd find in Florida or along any other coast. The rooms were unique, and I felt like we were in Mexico. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would absolutely come back. It was rainy season, but it only rained at night and it was amazing watching the storms from a covered balcony. It was still hot, but the air conditioning worked great. The beach itself was quiet and a little small, but an easy walk up or down for more beach areas.

The QMC is truly magical - something out of an alluring Mexican novel! We stayed in the Raphael suite and we could not imagine a better or more relaxing experience - even in the hot August weather. The building feels steeped in history and the myriad of stairs and hallways promise a surprise at every turn. We found the Raphael perfect for us and there was certainly no shortage of space. The private veranda is massive and we found ourselves spending a majority of our time on it overlooking the water. The ocean, just a few steps from the back door, is refreshing and great for a dip and relaxing even with the rocks (although more traditional beaches Playas Conchas Chinas and Los Meurtos are only a short walk on the beach in either direction). The staff is phenomenal and we would like to give thanks to Giovanni and Theresa who took extra-great care of us. Breakfast each morning was very nice and everyone employed at the QMC seems to truly care about the hotel and each guest's experience. I do not see how we would ever stay anywhere else in Puerto Vallarta again! THANK YOU, QMC! (Note: Speak with the staff before booking if you have difficulty navigating stairs.)

We loved our stay at the Quinta Maria. The service and courtesy is top notch, the rooms are amazing, and the overall vibe is super relaxed and enjoyable. We did 3 nights and wish we did more. Our only knock was the bed is a little stiff. Other than that, we will be back!

This place will not disappoint! The rooms are beautiful. The staff is wonderful. The views are stunning. Food is great a very quaint quiet place to get away highly recommend! Beach was very calm and quiet. Small and private. Not a party place atmosphere but you’re only a mile or so away from the Puerto Vallarta party seeing if that’s what you want. This is exactly what we needed. Love this place!

Highlights: Great service, proximity to town center, room cleanliness, overall experience From the start, we loved our stay. The breakfast was great. The staff was attentive and answered all of our questions. Though we are a drive from the city, Ubers were easy to order and cost-effective. We came in July, during the rainy season, but got extremely lucky with the weather. We did not need to cancel any outings due to the rain. We enjoyed the local cuisine and always had a comfortable, clean space to sleep. Checking out was hard because we absolutely loved the service and wanted to stay. It felt like a home. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to stay here. I cannot recommend it enough !

Private, calm, artsy, relaxing,romantic, and welcoming. Staying here felt like we were in our own, personal villa. The service is as attentive as you need it to be and not invasive. We enjoyed every view from our room, from breakfast, from the pool and from the rooftop terrace. What an incredible place! Everything is a quick Uber away or a 15-20 minute walk down the beach. I truly hope we can plan a return visit soon!

Love this quaint villa. We love the location, can walk the beach to town or catch a quick cab. The staff is very accommodating and always willing to help. Shout out to Jovanni, he was there to help with anything we needed!! Can't wait to return.

What a wonderful experience! The Maximiliano Villa was unique, eclectic and very comfortable with spectacular views, and the entire staff was incredibly accommodating, attentive, helpful and kind. We definitely plan to return with our family and friends!

My husband and I traveled to Puerto Vallarta for the first time looking for some relaxation and peace. Quinta Maria Cortez was the absolute highlight of our trip and delivered just that. I cannot recommend this property enough. We stayed in the Maria room which was quite big. The detail of the room was just breathtaking. If you're looking for an authentic and unique property, look no further. The AC was on point but we spent a lot of our time on the large balcony overlooking the ocean. Giovanni was incredibly helpful and kind to us during our stay. The whole staff was quick and super accommodating. I mean, they were FAST. Here are some answers to questions I had before our stay... This location has stairs but it didn't feel overwhelming at all to us. If someone has difficulty with typical stairs in day to day life, this might not be the most comfortable option for you. They do serve alcohol just no frozen pina coladas or daquaris which was super fine for us. We had choice of margaritas, beer, wine, and I'm pretty sure you could buy a bottle of liquor if you wanted to. The breakfast was delicious. You had a menu with 4-5 options which was plenty for us. The pancakes were my favorite. Other than breakfast, you can order chips and salsa/guacamole and quesadillas throughout the day. These were fantastic. My husband ordered the chips and salsa/guac almost every day. The beach is swimmable with caution. There are quite a few rocks. We were able to dip ourselves and cool off but if you're looking to swim around a lot you will want to walk down the beach a little ways to do so. We chose to stay in place. It was very convenient and peaceful by the rocks. The pool is small but it overlooks the water and I had it to myself almost every time I went. I personally loved it. You can walk to town in 15-20min but you will need some good shoes to walk some steps and through the sand a bit. It is not a straight simple walk to town but it's an adventure through to the city. Not an issue for us we enjoyed it. It was just humid and hot (it's the season from June-Oct for humidity) so we chose to take a cab (those come super fast when ordered through the B&B) from time to time. I am so pleased that we chose this spot to stay. It surpassed our hopes. After seeing some of the resorts (pales in comparison), I knew we had found one of the best experiences in Puerto Vallarta.
