Hotel Bishops Arms Piteå

The rooms were surprisingly nice, considering the somewhat gruff exterior of the hotel. It appeared recently renovated with a nice, inviting tone, good beds and a comfortable bathroom. The location was very close to the city centre, and the breakfast was decent, considering the price for staying. The check-in process was not very convenient. We knew that check-in was not until 4 PM, but we were not aware that the reception did not open until 4 PM- meaning that if you arrive early one should keep oneself preoccupied in the city centre etc. beforehand. It was stressful how the staff had to serve both the pub and the hotel, our receptionist was friendly but appeared stressed and we did not feel we could confiscate his time by asking many questions. One question we did ask however was if the hotel had parking in the parking house nearby-he responded that he didn't know. It turned out that the hotel had their designated parking area close to the elevators to the hotel, but as we were not aware we parked in the very opposite direction and had a long walk with much luggage. That was quite unnecessary.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Bishops Arms hotel in central Piteå and had a pleasant stay. We were a little nervous at the check in as you have to check in at the bar in the Bishops Arms pub, but after being given keys we went up to the third floor and we were pleasantly surprised. The third floor consists of a clean and modern corridor and an outdoor terrace with some seating. The rooms are all off of this corridor and they are nicely decorated, clean and have comfortable furniture and beds. Our room had a large window and looked down onto a small square. The window did not open though and an air conditioning unit warmed / cooled the room (not the best and we turned this off for most of the time we were in the room.) Good breakfast was included and served on the mezzanine / upstairs floor of the Bishops Arms pub. A pleasant stay and right in the centre of Piteå town.

Easy and very smooth check-in to the hotel at 4 pm, even though the pub already was crowded. The room itself at the third floor far exceeded our expectations; spacious and tastefully decorated. It provided all you need such as a saftey box, fridge, jug-kettle, tea and coffee, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board. Breakfast contained everything you need and was very tasty.
