Homewood Suites by Hilton Pensacola Airport-Cordova Mall Area

Pros: convenient location, large bedroom, good seating in living area, comfortable beds, and seemingly clean bathroom. These are not outweighed by the CONS: housekeeper didn’t replenish the large shampoo bottle attached to the wall before our stay (a line on the bottle showed the bottle was empty) & took 15 minutes to bring us a new bottle when I called the front desk, closet doors didn’t open (maintenance guy was surly and told us to expect them to come off track again), the luggage stand had a broken wooden leg (effectively a spear), and there were almost no utensils in the kitchen. The furniture and carpet were extremely worn.

Not clean. No soap. Tubs rusty. To let leaks on floor. Looks like a blind man tried to caulk around the tolit. Stain carpets. The pillows are terrible. pull the toaster out of the cabinet and there were still bread in it that was molded and I can’t. She smells like overkill Pine-Sol.

This was a great place to stay that is very close to the airport but never heard one airplane. So it was very quiet. Close to the mall and great places to eat staff was great and made sure to greet me upon arrival.

Over the last twenty-five years, my wife and I have stayed at this property numerous times. We have watched its slow and inevitable decline as it has aged without any effort by the owner to revitalize the property through refurbishment. Now, we stay at the property only because of its convenient location and pure inertia and laziness on our part. When we arrived the desk clerk did not acknowledge my presence at the desk, she was engrossed in her smartphone at the time and evidently found it more important than doing her job. She ignored me standing there at the counter until I finally spoke up and interrupted her concentration. Currently, the property has worn carpet in the corridors, peeling wallpaper, and generally aged furnishings--our TV stand had two missing knobs and our ice bucket was cracked and leaked. The refrigerator door appears to have been the victim of abuse--the refrigerator does work but appears less than presentable. The TVs appear to have been updated to newer models since our last stay; however, when we arrived neither TV would change channels and were fixed to a single channel. The TV remote would only control the volume and on/off function. We were unable to change channels. Upon investigation and much frustration--the desk clerk was of absolutely no assistance--we discovered that the housekeeper had dropped the TV remote sensors to both TVs behind their respective stands. When we finally discovered this, we moved the sensors to the top of the stands and resolved the problem. Subsequently, I read the Trip Advisor reviews and discovered that others have encountered similar problems in the past---and the desk clerk did not recognize the problem or its simple solution. Her suggested solution was to have someone come to our room the following day. So, if you must, stay at this property for its convenient location, I can think of no other compelling reason to do so.

Good room, full kitchen. Not noisy or stuffy. Breakfast was so, so: don't go because of free breakfast. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Rates were too high, but maybe just because it was May and good weather. Great lighted parking areea.

The room was run down, floors were dirty, shower head only worked in the stream position, tile on shower wall’s peeling and bath handles were rusted, beds a bit hard, pillows seemed old. Staff was very friendly though.
