Abbey House B & B

Host Vickie of Abbey House B&B definitely made our first trip to Penrith a truly memorable experience. She was prompt with our pre-arrival queries. We love our suite with the "Thoughtful Drawer", bathrobes and delicious breakfast spread. Bonus is also its convenient location to train and bus stations for day trip to Lake District as well as walking distance to village squares with quaint local-owned artisanal shops, markets, and diners. We wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Vickie! ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay at Abbey House. The B&B was lovely and clean and our room was very quiet. The owner also gave us some great recommendations for places to visit for dinner. Our full English Breakfast (included in the price) was excellent too. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is thinking of staying in Penrith and it's an excellent choice for anyone wishing to travel to the nearby Lake District.

Weekend in Penrith and this place was ideal. Great location with some parking at the rear. It's only a 2 minute walk to the town centre and everything is on your doorstep. Breakfast was fantastic and Vickie, the hostess, could not have been more helpful.

Really nice place to stay, comfortable rooms (en suite) and handy for the town centre. Breakfast was a feast and had a really good sleep in a great bed. Parking worked out fine - spaces at the back and on street free parking. Hosts really attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place to stay defo will return . Hosts were perfect although we weren’t keen on the restaurant recommendation they gave us . Lovely and spotless and extremely friendly ,great location we’ll be back next time thank you for having us to stay

Abbey House is a beautiful little B&B. Lovely accommodation and breakfast is amazing. Vickie and Gary are the hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Very good communication on check in to find the accommodation extremely clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Home from home - thank you.

This is our 2nd stay with Vicki and Gary and we will definitely be back! They are both so welcoming and friendly! Their rooms are beautiful, comfortable and immaculate! The breakfast is beautiful quality and perfectly cooked! We can't wait for our next visit already!

Absolutely super guest house and so much nicer than one of the chain hotel and much better value. They have obviously spent quite a bit to bring it up to this standard. Everything was immaculately clean and fresh. Most importantly the bed was really comfortable and the room, thought not large had everything you need and was nicely done. My en-suite looked like it had been finished yesterday. It’s the thoughtful touches that make the difference like the bathroom towels is a full bath sheet, there some ladies hairspray in the bathroom drawer along with toothpaste. The full English, on top of the cereals and yogurt and juices, was good quality sausage and bacon and is beautifully presented at your table freshly cooked, not having been left on a hot plate for however long. It all shows they have thought about things and care. I arrived quite late and they recommended a nice Italian (Sicilian actually) place to eat which was great food at a very reasonable price just a short walk away. All in all a lovely stay and I heartily recommend it.
