Ocean Trails Resort

Great location, convenient to local attractions and outdoor activities. Lots of amenities onsite: swimming pool, private beach,basketball,tennis courts. play ground with slide and swings. Games and books for check out. Great and safe environment for families with kids. For condo settings: no house keeping services provided. The units are self contained units with full kitchen facilities including dish washing machine, cooking utensils and dishes. and cloth washer and dryer. Some of the dishes and kitchen utensils in our unit were not fully functional and some of the dishes and cups could use a good washing. Our unit has lots of sky light but no air conditioning and therefore was like a furnace under bright and sunny warm day. While there were two ceiling fans and two electric fans, one floor fan was tugged away in a closet which has not been used for a while as it was clogged with dust and deemed unsafe to turn it on. While it was a good experience for a short stay, the fact that there was no air conditional in all the condo units was quite a surprise.

New or newly renovated three bedroom unit. Great layout, well equipped and very clean. Beds are very comfortable and rooms spacious. Staff friendly and accommodating . Location very good and resort well groomed and quiet. Highly recommend staying here.

We rented a 2 bedroom condo and it was very tastefully decorated. Kitchen was well stocked, even a garlic press, which I had forgot so glad it was there. Bedrooms have a full length deck outside the rooms which was very nice. Beds were comfortable and pillows of varying degrees of firmness. Lots of towels for showers. We also appreciated the hot tub after a day of walking the beach. If you have children it would be family friendly for sure. We would definitely go back! Thank you for the care you take of your resort.

A great little resort in a good location with friendly reception staff. We had a 2 bedroom condo which was very well equipped and tidy. The only minor fault was that we ran out of hot water a few times during our 3 night stay. The location is good with direct access to the beach and it is well situated to explore the local area. The town is a short drive away (approx. 5 mins) We also enjoyed the hot tub which was a great feature in the winter months. Would not hesitate to return if in the area again

This is our 3rd visit to the resort for Thanksgiving. One night in a one bedroom Newly Renovated!! suite and 2 nights in a 2 bedroom suite with family. We always feel very welcome and we are never disappointed with our accommodations. It is a great way to get everyone together for a great weekend. We would definitely recommend Ocean Trails to friends and family.

Made a reservation for stay two months away. Had to cancel within 4 days. They kept $50 of the deposit saying that they had credit card costs. Bogus! My mistake as I thought that the deposit was fully refundable up until 72 hours before stay. They had plenty of time to re-rent the room. Don't reserve or stay with them. There are plenty of other great resorts in Parksville/Qualicum BC. Select a different one.

Although I have lived only. 2 1/2 hour drive from Parksville, and of more importance, Rathtrevor Beach, I have never spent more than few hours there. Imagine my delight to be invited to spend a weekend at Ocean Trails Resort, sitting snugly in a treed, quiet area with the beach a few minutes walk away. The unit was wonderful with a king size bed in a generously sized bedroom. The bathroom & kitchen had everything we needed including washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and small appliances. Bunnies, woodpeckers, hummingbirds & squirrels delighted. The call of a lone raven could be heard nearby. Of course the main draw was the private access to the beach. When the tide is out one can walk 2 km on the sandy ocean floor. Even when the tide is in there is always sand to entice removal of socks & shoes. It was easy walking the beach. We let time slip by but managed to visit one of the Farmers markets where we found delicious choices for a picnic lunch & to prepare a meal. We visited the boardwalk in Parksville, Milner Gardens & had dinner one lovely evening before I the forest wrapped me In the softly swaying boughs outdoors as I curled in that huge bed for a peaceful sleep.

When we tried to book a place in December in Parksville, there were no vacancies any where. Ocean trails was the only place that would put us on a waiting list and called us back. We stayed in a very well equipped and clean 1 bedroom unit. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Anything missing was corrected immediately. One of the best shower pressures I have experienced in a commercial location.

We had booked a 3 nights stay in December 2021. Before our stay roads on the island were closed due to washouts and dangerous conditions. Government directives were advised for essential travel only. There was also a gas shortage as a result of this at the time. We contacted Ocean Trails to cancel our reservation however they withheld our $50.00 deposit. We understood someone from the resort would contact us however we never did hear from them. . Due to the circumstances it seems like poor customer service and irresponsible to withhold our deposit with these advisories in place. There are many resorts in Parksville and on Vancouver Island to choose from. In the future we will book with another resort.
