Booked a month ago. Card details were verified at the time. On the day of arrival (as I was in the air on the plane) the hotel cancelled the booking. I called them, and they said I needed to email. I emailed them and they did not respond to the email. I was forced at the very last minute to find a new hotel, that was of course more expensive. Given other reviews I have read on social media, I believe the hotels does this when they become fully booked, so they can benefit from getting a higher tariff from customers. There was nothing wrong with my card, which is a Euro bank account, and was used for other hotels in France, and everyday whilst in France. FWIW in case anyone reading this thinks I could have input the card details incorrectly....the details are saved, which was used, the same way I've used it at hundreds of other hotels
