Castle in the Sand

The staff treated us like royalty we had a great time the room was super clean and the room service friendly. The room was equipped with plenty of clean towels and linen. I would highly recommend staying here. It is central to Ocean City you can walk to the boardwalk or many restaurants the convention center is also just a short walk

We stayed at the Castle in the Sand (cottages building 300-12C upper level). The cottage was set up like a small apartment. The cottage was clean, not super modern but you can tell it had been upgraded. Room #1 had a queen bed, the bed and pillows were very comfy and for the size it was spacious enough, room #2 had 2 twin beds, the couple put both beds together to make a king bed (it was comfy as well. My only disappointments were neither room had televisions in them, the only TV was in the living room area, and the other was the bathroom was extremely small. If you were taller than 5'6" you had a problem. Our knees literally touched the walls and the vanity all in one. I'm not sure if all the room are set up this way with the bathrooms. I would stay again because of the location, price and it was clean, which made me feel very comfortable. I would bring a small TV with me and just connect to their WiFi.

This hotel had a few positive features, however, the negative features are the reason why we probably won't stay there again. It does have a great location, the staff members were very friendly, and the pool was very clean. However, the air conditioning was terrible...there was no air in the bedroom. There was wifi but no internet, which seems crazy in 2023. The bathroom was very outdated and falling apart. The parking was horrible...there were always people parked with pink tickets, or no tickets, which made it hard to find a spot. Also, the fire alarm went off and we didn't even hear it in the living room. Overall, there are other places to stay for the money we spent to stay there.

They have a breakfast buffet, Nice bar and grill on site. Breakfast is 16 for adults not sure for children. Grill food is good, everything is a la cart. They have nice Olympic pool. Have activities for kids everyday. Ice cream parlor. Now not so nice , the carpet needs to be replaced thru out the hotel. The ceiling in our room looked either mold along the walls or just very dirty. It's a old hotel. Needs a lot of up dating. Guess they are making their money so why bother. One other thing the beach is right there, couple of hundred feet and your there.

Beautiful Oceanview. VERY LOUD AC in livingroom!! Can't talk. Sounds like a MAC TRUCK. Hard to sleep! Main door came right thru the bedroom. Very small table. Their CONDOS are the best! I've been spoiled by them for too long! I stay at those every October!! I'll give up the oceanview to stay at the Condo next May!

Castle in the Sand is our favorite. We love staying in the Castle South where we can sit on our balcany and listen to the band at Coconuts and people watch. The food and drinks are great there. The security guards are so friendly. The Beach House has a fantastic breakfast menu and buffet. I love the olympic size pool. The rooms are very clean. The comradery among the staff is awesome.

Needs an upgrade. Common areas and hallways need a good scrubbing and paint. Glass doors and windows need cleaned. Beds were comfortable and clean, tub and toilet were clean but the bathroom floor, trim and sink were dirty. Old dingy carpet in the main room. Loved the pool area and Coconuts dining on the patio with good food entertainment. Family oriented hotel and town.

Nice hotel. It is a little dated but very clean. The best part of the place is the outdoor bar and grille. Every employee was very friendly. Having wait staff on the beach was also awesome. The only thing needed is to update/upgrade your toilets. They are very low to the ground. Would definitely be go back.

Staff at the front desk are great - friendly and professional. The location of this hotel is spectacular. Sitting on the balcony and looking at the ocean cannot be beat. But if you're looking for a place that is really nice inside - comfortable and clean, like a hotel should be - this is not a good hotel. Beds and pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Sheets are thin and comforters are 20th-century-gross. There was a long, disgusting hair hanging on the back of our bathroom door that outlasted at least two visits by the cleaners. Hinges on the doors are rusted out and electrical outlets don't quite work anymore. Sofa bed was worse than the regular beds (of course) and the carpet in the room is appallingly dated and worn. And if you do venture out, be prepared for sloth-like performance from the elevator EVERY time. But hey, it's on the ocean, so they can keep charging ridiculous rates and expecting people to stay there. It would be nice if they would take some pride in the interior of their hotel and not just depend on the ocean to sell rooms. This place is in desperate need of some TLC.
