Secrets on the Lake

Lovely setting on the balcony overlooking the dam, set amongst the trees. Good service and good food, all reasonably priced. Gallery attached to the restaurant/ cafe, boutique gift shop and accommodation available in this beautiful tree top setting.

If I could give this stay Six Stars I would. We have stayed here several times over a number of years and this stay didn’t disappoint. From the moment you arrive at Secrets you know you have just arrived somewhere very special. We booked the Possums Cabin including breakfast as well as the BBQ dinner pack and a welcome Cheese platter. Everything was perfect, so much food and so beautifully presented and tasty. I also need gluten free food and this was very well cared for. The coffee in the Restaurant is excellent. We decided to have our breakfast in the beautiful Secrets restaurant, the food, the view and the staff were excellent. These cabins have been here for a very long time but are in pristine condition, so well maintained. Everything that you need for your stay is here, plenty of firewood, the fire is easy to light, you air conditioner as a backup, blankets to take out side and sit on the beautiful swing, a small kitchen with plenty utensils, a BBQ on the balcony, a very comfortable bed, bathroom products, candles to light around your spa…… the list goes on! So as you can see we loved it all! Thank you so much to George, Aldy and the Secrets team for an another amazing stay. See you next time🌺

Thank you for such amazing service and refreshing smiles. The food was exquisite as always. The lake and woods are oh so relaxing. Thank you to Adam and his girlfriend and the tall bearded young chap for such kindness. It made our day wonderful after a long hard trial. We laughed and enjoyed the company of such lovely staff. Everything about this place is absolutely wonderful.We stayed in the possum treehouse which over looked the gardens and lake and had the best view . We also fed the wildlife ,bush turkeys, kookaburras and possums right from our balcony .The gardens are magnificent ,the staff are amazing the food is delicious and can’t fault anything about the place .HIghly recommended to a fantastic getaway .

A delightful drive into the hinterland to this amazing venue that we hadn't visited since pre-pandemic days. We were greeted by friendly staff and were seated at a table with a gorgeous view over the lake. Drinks ordered straight away and food orders taken, then left to enjoy the scenery until our meals arrived, all fresh and well presented, and tasting even better. We will definitely return again to one of our favourite places in Montville.

Great views and great food overlooking the Lake. We have visited before and returned again due to good food, views and great staff. We would highly recommend and we will definitely return, hopefully, again very soon. Wine and beer very reasonably priced! Great Brulee for dessert!

Another wonderful visit to a heavenly retreat that holds a special place in our hearts. We have stayed here numerous times, and always, it never ceases to amaze us. George and Aldy have created such a peaceful haven that is so unique and special that truly must be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Thank you this time to Sarah for making our 33rd wedding anniversary extra special for us and truly unforgettable. Words cannot describe how special you made us feel. We actually had tears in our departure. Please do yourself a favour and stay at Secrets on the Lake at least once. So good for the heart and soul.

My partner and I are seasoned travelers, having explored over 10 different countries and lodged in more than 50 diverse lodgings, ranging from 5-star hotels to hostels. We had been eager to experience a stay at Secrets for a while, having enjoyed several visits to their restaurant in the past. However, when it came to the actual accommodation, it fell short of our expectations, especially considering its billing as "luxury accommodation" and the corresponding rates. Below, I outline the pros and cons of our personal three-night stay in the Bower treehouse. Positives: 1. The treehouse boasted a breathtaking view. 2. The food served was of excellent quality. 3. The overall cleanliness was commendable. 4. A complimentary breakfast was included. Negatives: 1. We encountered cockroaches in the dishwasher. 2. There were issues with broken toilet seat hinges. 3. Some of the furniture and furnishings, such as rugs, bedspreads, and the couch, appeared outdated and would benefit from an upgrade. 4. The breakfast credit provided was insufficient to cover a simple drink with breakfast, necessitating extra charges for tea and coffee. (We suggest including breakfast beverages or offering breakfast with drinks included.) 5. Breakfast service did not commence until 8 am. In summary, our stay was enjoyable, with the surrounding natural beauty providing a significant highlight. The overall service and accommodation were satisfactory. However, given the plethora of alternative lodgings in Montville and Maleny, along with our prior experiences in similar accommodations, there seems to be a sense of complacency and a lack of attention to necessary improvements and reviews.

Today our party of three enjoyed a lovely lunch at Secrets on the Lake. We experienced friendly, efficient service in picturesque surroundings. My fish of the day, crispy skinned barramundi with a noodle salad was delicious and I could highly recommended it. We shall return Rob
