Sleep Inn Lake Wright - Norfolk Airport

The pool was late opening and very filty, very unsanitize.

It was such a beautiful place, the atmosphere was serene and cozy. It’s easy to locate on a map and love the services they rendered to me. The reception was second to none. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Stopped here overnight before flying back to California. Don’t be fooled by how the pictures look online. This place is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. The lobby smells like old urine, the elevator was hotboxed before I got into by some smoking pot, even though it claims to be a smoke free facility. The carpets were gross and sticky, the shower/bathroom area smelled of chemicals but wasn’t remotely clean. The walls had holes and patches all over them. Neighbors slammed doors all hours of the night and even tried to come through the door adjoining our room. I didn’t realize that door existed bc it wasn’t in any online photos. Over all would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to my friends.

The hotel was really close to the Norfolk airport. The check in process was mostly easy, though it should mentioned there is a $50 hold when you check in. The room itself was decent, with great AC and a mini fridge. The bed was good, and fairly comfortable, and very spacious (it was a king sized bed). The bathroom was kind of small, and the shower had a very rounded “back” Additionally, the shower wasn’t labeled which was hot and cold. Also, there was a dent in the drywall in between the toilet and shower. Breakfast was ok, the standouts were the waffles, breakfast potatoes, and the biscuits. Unfortunately, the eggs were only ok. The indoor pool was ok. It was a bit small (and slightly “over chlorinated”) The location was within walking distance of a few different restaurants and the Outlet Mall. Overall the hotel was pretty decent.

We had reservations with Sleep Inn Lake Wright Norfolk from 7/27 through 7/30. In the early morning of 7/28/2024 at 2 am two guys attempted to enter our room. They had card keys for the same room, and were able to crack the door open. It's a good thing my roommate had latched the door, so they couldn't open it completely. They said the hotel assigned them to our room. After a harsh conversation with the strangers, they left. We called the front desk and told him about this occurrence, and we said we needed to call the police. The front desk said that he would take care of the security. The front desk said his computer showed that our room was available, however he was the one who gave us this room. This was unacceptable and extremely dangerous. What if those guys had been able to come in and rob us or something worse? We did not sleep much on Saturday night. We left the hotel the morning of 7/28.

***Do not stay here** stayed here part of a wedding party. After checking in my room it was a smell **** and cigarette smoke through out the hall way. That wasn’t the worst part. I arrived with me and my family things to the first room that smelled and had some white substance coated the windows due maybe water leak. The comforter and couch was soiled. I ask to be moved to another room. My next room smelled a lot better and looked cleaner. Most of brides wedding party and guest left the hotel that night because of the condition of the hotel. Prior to leaving for our first event of the evening there were roaches on the sink and my breaking point was a baby roach was in the middle of my bed. I could not have my children in this type of environment. Me and my family could not sleep here. I don’t write reviews but they need to do something about this. This hotel is very old and unkept.

I reserved a room at Sleep Inn. I did not stay a Sleep Inn they moved me to Quality Suites, at the same complex. They did not give me a receipt at check-in. They over charged me for my room and did not give me my military discount. They have refused to send me a copy of my receipt so I can not figured out what they charged me for. I estimate I am out a $100 bucks.

My daughter's rented a room at this hotel on Thursday for a trip to Norfolk on Friday. They checked in at 9 pm. After checking in, they didn't go to the room to leave their things... thank goodness. They went on to their function. The girls returned to the room around 1 a.m., opened the door to their room, and noticed the bed ruffled, a coat on the bed, and a hanger on the floor. The items were NOT theirs, they belonged to someone else!! They immediately backed out of the room and went to the front desk. The front desk claimed one person at the front desk wasn't paying attention and double booked the room. The girls' money was immediately refunded, with an apology. But I want to be sure others are aware. I'm so thankful my girls are safe and paid attention to their surroundings... because this could have had a different ending. A word to the wise, this may not be the best hotel for you and your family to stay at and feel safe!
