OYO Godolphin Arms Hotel

I do not recommend this hotel it was not particularly cozy because the bathroom in the room I was in was too small, shared with the toilet, but too small, the walls were perhaps so thin that absolutely every noise from the neighbors could be heard loudly.

We stayed in Newquay last week and visited the Godolphin on a number of occasions for food and drink. The bar staff and locals were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was tasty and along with the drinks, good value for money. When we asked for a Sri Lankan curry that had been on the specials board the night before and had smelt really good, “Badger” the chef happened to overhear us and went and made it especially for us even though it was his night off. It certainly didn’t disappoint and was one of the best curries I’ve ever had, far better than many of the Indian restaurants I’ve eaten in. Can’t speak for the accommodation as we didn’t stay there, but a good place to eat and drink.

Work booked me in here as it was low budget, rooms were ok but I got bad back ache from the bed. Breakfast was English but not great. Walls are paper thin and the toilets use grinders which make a lot of noise. The last night they had a birthday party and the noise was horrendous, they moved me to the front which was quieter, but had kids yabbing until the early hours, not great when I had a 7 hour drive in the morning. Will never stay here again
