Cons: The rooms were quite small and the bedding was a bit low quality for any type of proper hotel. Maybe the other weak point was the food was generally awful. Pros: That hotel is pretty and the spaces are pretty. The location is great for exploring the area, the staff are friendly and the rooftop bar is accommodating and the drinks are fair priced. It was not a bad budget ish way to see NY but the hotel vibe made the spot not feel super Selina ish and the cheap bedding seemed a bit too much to make me think about staying again.

Can't beat this location and convenience! It is a small room, but fantastic for solo travel on the go, and the option to meet up with friends on the rooftop bar was appreciated. Hotel was clean and cleaning team were on top of things. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful; Martin, in particular, made me feel right at home and put in effort to meet all of my needs. I will be back here.

It's HOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIBLE. The Selina hotel brand seems to be about being Young! And Fun! And Having Adventure! That's fine. In the event, the hotel is overpriced and really bad. With the room they're going for a boho-chic kind of feeling but it's just cheap and uncomfortable - no expense has not been spared - it actually feels sub-IKEA. There's nowhere to work in the room - you have to go to bars with their relentless ever-throbbing house music. The staff also seemed to be whatever could be cobbled together. It's really, really unimpressive. Now you know!

The hotel was ok. I had been tossing up between a few in the area with similar pricing and Selina was the cheapest (but not by too much) and it looked modern. We stayed in a standard and felt it wasn’t worth the price we paid. Wish we had splurged just a couple extra dollars for another hotel. The restaurant across the road is really good though and the location in general is good. Walkable and close to public transport. The room was clean enough but felt a bit off, and also lots of things were broken like light switches. Also they took $100 for incidentals at check in which is fine (they also took a resort fee that was never listed anywhere, $50). But a week after check out, the $100 was still being held. So I contacted them and they said it would be returned within 5-6 days max. 3 weeks later and it is still being held. I contacted them again and they have not answered. Considering they responded almost immediately up until it had to do with them keeping my money, it’s a bit shady. Would love a response.

Nice hotel well located. Felt safe around the area. Super close to the Highline, The Edge, Vessel, Chelsea Market, Hudson Yards and so many other great places to visit in NYC ＜3 The food was good, the staff friendly and always willing to help, mainly the front desk staff. I did miss the activities other Selinas usually offer like yoga. Our room was clean, spacious and well equipped. Anyways, we would definitely recommend!

I'm glad I ignored the bad reviews. I found The Selina to be an exceptional value for the location and experience. The staff was terrific, and the free welcome drink was a real treat - the margarita option was a very quality cocktail, not a cheap mix. Most importantly I appreciate they don't extort pet owners with exorbitant extra fees and were truly welcoming to my pup (we were in town for an AKC event at the Javits Center). Also the morning coffee in the lobby was a really good brew - I normally would go out to one of the many specialty cafes for coffee, but was more than happy with the complimentary cup. The room was small, as are most NYC rooms at this price point. I did not have a problem with noise other than the to be expected occasional street noise which was barely discernible. Music from the lobby area traveled up the elevator shaft but could not be heard inside the room. While I could hear the sound of other room doors opening and closing, I find that to be fairly common in hotels and was not bothered by it, nor was my dog. The room temperature was easily adjustable. I did initially feel a draft and some cool air but soon realized the window had been left partially open. I will definitely be back to the Selina for the AKC event next year- the proximity to Javits and Hudson Yards without being in the gritty really busy Times Square area was perfect.

Hotel is dirty and is NOT a 4-star hotel. More like 0 stars! The TVs and phones don’t work and there’s a smell in the rooms and hallways AND the bathroom was dirty upon check-in. We were in 2 different rooms and they were both disgusting. Ended up cancelling the reservation and leaving about 15 min after check-in. Do NOT stay here.
