Previous reviews and more recent photos gave me the confidence to book a room at this motel. We paid a tiny bit more to be upgraded to a "deluxe room," and I am glad that we did. Upon entering our room we were pleasantly surprised by the size, the cleanliness and the view. There is a mini-fridge, a microwave, a nice newer tv, and reliable wifi. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well We would stay here again.

Very, very clean. Really nice room. Brand new everything. Really nice value for the area. It really was a luxury room. Beautiful view of the Housatonic River, with seats down by the river to pass the time. Wonderful service as well! Would absolutely stay here again.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Refrigerator, but no microwave. The rooms are well-decorated, not the standard every-room-looks-the-same model. It was a nice change in our journey. We were late arriving, but check-in was smooth and the owner was super responsive to his phone. This property had a huge green space behind it which would be good for a group event. I can't give it a 5-star rating because I could never get the tv to work and watching the Olympics really mattered. In trying to cast to the tv, I could pick up other rooms' tvs, but not mine. It was hooked to a DVD player and I finally used that cord to hook to my computer and used my Netflix account, but I really would have preferred a regular tv channel.

This property is the only one I know North of Danbury (15 miles) that offers amenities found at "three star major brands". When I travel anywhere (in this case to a Reunion at South Kent School) I like to have "the best surprise is no surprise". Now I respect those who choose in rural settings, to seek out the "charming Bed and Breakfasts", of which there quite a number in this area, but that simply is "not me". Pay a somewhat higher rate for their "Deluxe Wing" and you can be sure to have the "three star" amenities noted. So if your destination is the New Milford, Gaylordsville, Kent, Sharon, area and you're like me, this is where to stay. If you are "like some others" where to have a cat who knows how to open doors and decide she wants to have a "sleep in" with a guest is all part of the rustic experience, go find your B&B.

My wife and I went to visit her cousin in New Milford, we booked at the Rocky River Inn. What a great place! Rooms are exactly like the pictures, it was clean and updated. We stayed in the Jr. King Suite. The woman at the front desk was super friendly as well. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

I had a family emergency and had to leave for home without returning to the Inn. I called them and asked if they could hold my bag and it may be close to a year before I returned. I was willing to pay them to ship and told them I would be returning. I called them to assure they would hold it and a year later they told me they had thrown away my suit case and everything in it. Many very expensive items in the case. Included with the case was my tag containing my business card with contact info. I know a year is a long time and that's why I told them it would be a while before I return. I travel in my business and return to CT annually. They would not have thrown away anything that was left behind. The courtesy of a phone call would have been very easy.
