Kurialacherry House Alleppey

It is an amazing place: beautiful, very comfortable, super clean. We had our own little house, with one big room and big bathroom. Airco. We have been treated like kings and queens. The food is delicious. Dont hesitate to go. Do your self a favor.

We recently stayed at Kurialacherry House and it was absolutely wonderful. The accommodation was really unique using former farm buildings that have been converted into holiday homes. Our room was the perfect size with a comfortable bed and nice clean bathroom. A back patio area and a balcony overlooking the water are both included. We were greeted by Elizabeth at check in and she was really kind to us both and offered us Tea. They had then prepared an absolutely massive lunch for us consisting of about 10 south Indian dishes. These were all delicious and we couldn't possibly finish them all. The real highlight of the stay was after dinner, we were really lucky to be offered a tour of the village and a trip to the nearby Kalloorkad St. Mary's Basilica. We were led on this tour by Sreekumar. He was a brilliant tour guide and despite saying he only spoke a small amount of English, we had a really engaging conversation for the entire tour. He spoke to us about life in his village, where people work, where kids go to the school. He also was really interested in finding out about our own country. Everyone we met in the village was really kind to us and greeted us warmly. Our tour route took us to Kalloorkad St. Mary's Basilica where we were lucky enough to watch hundreds of local people engaged in prayer at the beautiful church. It was a really moving moment and not something we expected to experience when we checked in that day. Sreekumar then led us back to the Homestay and served us dinner on the rooms back patio. The service was brilliant and the setting was beautiful. We were only supposed use this accommodation as a 1 night stop over but the hard work of all the staff at Kurialacherry House, especially Sreekumar have made the visit one of the highlights of our holiday.

Our family was looking for authentic homestay vacation at Alleppey and we got to the right place. Ours was a group of 30 people,including a toddler ,few teens and a handful of septuagenarians. Our get together at this scenic place with the awesome food served will be one of the best we had. The house boat ride ,travel to railway station were all coordinated by Chakochan. Would also like to mention the care they are taking towards sustainable tourism,be it rainwater harvesting,usage of glass bottles,the minimal and soothing ambience , conservation of the traditional paddy storage houses. Many thanks to Chakochan (Mr Jacob) ,Elsa ,their parents , Sreekumar and the chechies who served us with geniune care and attention to details. Waiting for our next trip to Alleppey 👍👍

We recently visited this property and had a amazing experience... The property had a calm and pleasant environment..... Rooms were neat and clean - clean blankets and towels were provided Food was amazing - relished some local quisine We went for boating from there.... yet another great experience

We were a group of 30 people who spent two nights with Jacob and his family, and we had a fantastic stay! The food was delicious and homely, and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Jacob arranged a houseboat for us, which conveniently picked us up from the property entrance, making it easy for our large group . The property is well-maintained, with a beautiful backwater view ,garden and swans that add to its peaceful and picturesque charm. Our only minor issue was that, given our large group size, the hosts had some difficulty serving food on time. However, this did not detract from our overall wonderful experience, and we would highly recommend this property to others.

Had a great time with my family at Kurialacherry house. It’s an apt place for a family vacation. Chakochan & his wife Elsa makes you feel at home with their hospitality. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, food was great& service was prompt. The location is excellent & the property is well maintained. It was my first experience at a home stay & it was beautiful..special thanks to Sreekumar for being there throughout for all services.

It's a beautiful resort that we enjoyed on a family vacation. Surrounded by the Backwaters and its lush greenery, Kurialacherry House is the perfect place to relax. The little houses in which we stayed were cozy and comfortable. The food offered to us three times per day was freshly prepared and delicious. We definitely recommend the resort to anyone visiting the area.

Staying at Kurialachery House with Jacob, his family and team was wonderful. They were amazing hosts and the home cooked meals were delicious. The homestay is next to the waterways which the staff take you to your accommodation on a riverboat. There is a lovely walk through the rice paddi fields to the local village where the children love to interact with you. Over all a great experience! Maurice & Marlene Kissick New Zealand

This was our second stay with the last one being 5-6 years ago. Simply put, this traditional homestay by the backwaters is beautiful and serene, one of our best homestays. It is located midst of lush greenery and farms, away from hustle of city life. The property also has its own plantations which are fun and knowledgeable. Rooms are simple, well equipped and have all the needed amenities. Jacob, his family and staff are very warm and welcoming. They go over and above to keep their guests happy. Food is just amazingly tasty! Everyday meal was different and made in traditional way. Most ingredients are locally sourced. Highly recommend this place. We will be back again.
