Beware that this B&B is really an Airbnb/Vrbo type of place – no one is there to man the reception like a regular hotel or B&B. We booked this place as our flight was scheduled to arrive in Naples around 10 pm and we did not want the trouble of finding an Airbnb type of lodging which might be difficult to locate/get into in the middle of the night. The fact our stay includes breakfast every morning kind of assured us that it is a real B&B. What a mistake I made!
A few days before our arrival at Suite Cuorenapoletano (SC), I emailed the place and inquired about our late arrival – if it would be any trouble. I was assured that there would not be any problem and they would send us “self-check-in” instructions. Fabrizio from SC did send us self-check-in instructions when I contacted them again through WhatsApp. Well, the instructions also showed that the breakfast included is at a nearby Café.
The problem came when our flight from London to Naples got delayed a couple of hours due to bad weather. We sent a message to Fabrizio to notify him of our delayed arrival. The shock came when we arrived at Naples airport and turned on the phone: we were notified that the main gate to the building needed someone to buzz us in remotely and it would be too late to do that. We were told to stay near the airport, and they will reimburse us. It was already past midnight… we had no choice but frantically did Google searches and found a motel where someone actually answered the phone and had availability at that hour. However, it turned out the motel was in Casoria and it cost us 40 euros to get to.
Long be hold, we finally started our stay at SC the next day for 3 nights and never saw any staff at the reception area. All communications were to Fabrizio through WhatsApp. He was responsive, and his management finally refunded us the cost of the motel stay after my several requests. Nevertheless, this forced change of plan brought stress and extra cab fee to us. We were also led to believe that they would reimburse us the missed overnight stay at SC, too, as they did not let us in. When we mentioned that we will include this problem in our review, Fabrizio threatened us that he will call ******* that “you are a guest with bad behavior, and I will ask for compensation at your expense”??
