Booked through AirBnB, where there's a 48 hour cancellation option - set by the hotel. I respect that people shouldn't keep rooms off the market so that they can't be booked, and my sister wasn't ready to commit, so I went back and cancelled five minutes before the expiration of that 48 hours - except misremembered the time and was actually two minutes late. (10:31am instead of 10:29am on the receipt.) Initially their staff member claimed they couldn't refund the money because I'd cancelled (not true - there's a whole other Resolution Center for exactly that reason.) When AirBnB followed up with them on my behalf, they simply refused, and refused to reinstate the booking either. I get that it was my mistake, but they lost *nothing* in the two extra minutes - making this the worst customer service ever. Looking at other reviews more carefully, they do seem to struggle with the service end of the business.

You better like the old Victorian feel that is dusty and invasive, because this place did not meet public health safety standards if they exist in this county. Check all the other platform reviews of this place, because this is NOT favorable. I rented it for 5 nights and after getting there at 11pm, slept in the bed only to wake up and leave. They didn’t find any sympathy to offer a single night refund, when I was amicable to partial. Our room was under a flight of stairs like Harry Potter and this place doesn’t deserve anything close to 5 stars. Paying for the full 5 nights still didn’t stop me from leaving after night 1, and that is how strong I feel.

I was so excited to stay here but it was NOT as advertised. We had a few issues staying in the Bridle Sweet and it wasn’t;t charming like the main house - it was old and creaky and a few things did not work. There is NO staff during the day to help you with anything, it felt more like an Airbnb because of this. Reading other reviews, there may have recently been an ownership change. There is no longer the wine and cheese happy hours like so many reviews said. We called to get an earlier breakfast one day because of an 8 AM appointment we had and the person who answered said it would not be “feasible”. Well, on our way home I looked at reviews and one week before we stayed one reviewer raved about how they were able to get an early breakfast on request. The only pro I can say is that the staff in the morning for breakfast if you can;t make it is friendly and the location is great in terms of walking to downtown. Overall, very sad and disappointed that our charming B+B was not at all as expected - much less for the price paid. There are so many others in the area I would recommend looking at!

Our room, Pheasant Dreams, was very comfortable. The carpet looks a bit tired and the soaps/shampoos are terrible but breakfast was great! We loved the location, central to all things Napa. Hennessey House has been sold since I made my original reservation. I had to cancel in March but was given a voucher which was very nice of the new owners to do. I'm sorry to have missed the hospitality of the previous owner, but overall our stay was definitely worth the money.

Charming and spacious rooms in a lovely setting and walking distance to downtown Napa shops and restaurants. Charlie was a great host and cook and the breakfasts were amazing! Lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy the complimentary wine in the afternoon

As many have said the lack of owner presence and impersonal feel is a big con of this place. They also clearly don’t want to spend the money to keep it running as it used to be. Wine social hour was nonexistant. When we came down to see about it, the staff poured us a glass of wine but said they no longer do cookies and cheese and don’t even set wine out. We stayed in the upstairs hideaway which was cute although no fridge but we could use the main fridge. The highlight of the stay was the proximity to downtown and Charlie who made the delicious breakfasts and was welcoming. He stays on the property.

I guarantee this is not what you are dreaming of when you think Napa B&B. Pros: This room would be a solid AirBnb given the excellent location and cleanliness. Would even be a 5/5 AirBnb if priced better. Cons: Such an impersonal stay. Check in is via email. There are no hosts to greet you or give recs. The “wine pouring series” does not exist. The welcome email describes a tasting of 2 wines on the patio as weather permits or inside - there was nobody in the patio or common rooms during the wine tasting times. When I emailed about it, I was provided a bottle of wine (already opened and half empty) by a very nice staff member. Neutral: Can’t report on breakfast as we are leaving to go back to SF too early for the 1 hour breakfast window. Typical quirks of an older property like sink that takes a long time to empty. Also - hot water heater is broken. Not able to use the claw foot tub or take a hot shower. Partial refund was given accordingly.

This is the first time I am posting to Trip Advisor, but I felt compelled to do so because I was so happy with our stay at this property. My husband and I spent 2 nights here (3/6-7 2022). It was awesome. The hosts and proprietors Kevin & Lorri did everything they could to make our stay memorable. I am a fussy eater. On the first day Lorri asked what I would eat for breakfast. Surprised, I enumerated all my "no eat" foods. She prepared a tofu scramble the first morning and sweet potato hash the second. She also made individual soufflés for my husband and the other guests. Fresh OJ, decaf coffee, fresh cut fruit. Just amazing. The house is beautiful, quiet and clean, and it looked like our bathroom had been newly renovated. The grounds are also very pretty. Each afternoon we were given fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and between 5:30-6:30pm wine & cheese. I highly recommend the experience. The location is right on Main St. - walking distance to many restaurants/downtown, but still very quiet. Thanks to our hosts; we loved our visit in Napa Valley, California and would highly recommend to anyone coming to Napa.
