Das Hotel ist nur gut. Der Teppich muss ersetzt werden, aber insgesamt ist es vernünftig sauber. Das ist unser Familienmitglied, das 3st Mal hier bleiben, meine Kinder lieben den Pool (aber ist für ein paar Stunden am Nachmittag geschlossen und schließt um 6 Uhr.) Das Frühstücksbuffet (6:30 um 9:30 Uhr) ist eine gute Mischung aus westlichen und vietnamesischen Lebensmitteln. Das Restaurant im Hotel ist geschlossen, aber es gibt ein kleines Frühstück und Mittagessen direkt außerhalb des Hotels und ein Café von frühem Morgen bis zum Abend und es gibt ein umfangreiches Zimmerservicemenü. Der Fitnessraum ist geschlossen. Das Personal hat sehr wenig Englisch, aber tut alles, was sie können, um zu helfen. AC funktioniert gut. Keine englischen Fernsehsender.

Die Lage des Hotels könnte man auch am Rande der Zivilisation bezeichnen. Irgendwo zwischen ruralen Dörfern des Mekong Deltas ausserhalb der Stadt My Tho an der Spitze einer wenig besiedelten Insel, genannt die Einhorninsel. Auf einer Nebenstrasse fährt man, bis etwa einen Kilometer vor das Hotel. Dort steigt man in ein Caddy um, der einen dann auf einem Feldweg zum Hotel bringt. Das sagt schon viel über die Lokalität und die Idee der Erholung aus. Das eine Motto ist Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit, das andere die französische Zeit (Stil) der 1920er und 1930er Jahre. Die Ruhe ist in der Regel gegeben, die 12 Zimmer werden meist von Gästen gebucht die eben diese Ruhe und Zeit suchen. Das französische muss man ebenfalls mögen. Zum Abendessen erklingen aus den Lautsprechern dezent Musik und Klänge aus dieser Zeit. Das Personal war jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit und speditiv. So wie wir das in ganz Vietnam kennen gelernt haben. An der Rezeption war die Verständigung auf Englisch sehr gut, im Service gebrochen Englisch, und eine Kellnerin konnte Französisch. War aber nie ein Problem. Bei unserem Aufenthalt waren nie mehr als drei Gästepaare und eine Familie zu sehen. Das Personal im Service arbeitet daher wahrscheinlich in Intervallen, aber auf jeden Fall mit langen Präsenzzeiten (beim Abendessen und beim Frühstück die selben Kellnerinnen und daneben bei Bedarf im SPA). Wir haben auch je zwei Anwendungen im SPA gebucht und fanden die Qualität gut, die Preise in Ordnung. Unüblich war für uns, dass wir die Damen vom SPA beim Abendessen im Service wieder getroffen haben. Die Zimmer folgen dem Stil und der Idee vom Hotel. „Ecofriendly“ und französisch kolonial. Das bedeutet eine gute aber zurückhaltende Einrichtung, Bad und WC sind nicht klimatisiert, auf eine Minibar wird verzichtet. Uns hat gefallen, dass es immer wieder Wasser gegeben hat und die Sessel auf der Terrasse mit Blick in den gepflegten Garten zum Verweilen einladen. Ebenfalls sehr toll, das Salatbesteck aus Bambusholz als Erinnerung zum Mitnehmen. Zum Frühstück gibt es eine Karte und kein Buffet. Für uns in Ordnung, denn es hat auf der Karte alles an Früchten, Brot und Gekochtes (wie z.B. Eggs Benedict), was man braucht oder gern hätte. Die Karte ist, wenig überraschend, stark von der französischen Küche geprägt. Beim Abendessen ist man flexibler. Es gibt mehrere Seiten französische und vietnamesische Küche. Wir haben einmal ein vietnamesisches Menu aus mehreren Gängen und einmal à la Carte gemischt. Die Qualität und die Menge waren gut. Die Preise für Essen und Trinken fanden wir (im Vergleich mit 4 und 5 Sterne Hotels von Nord– bis Südvietnam) an der oberen Grenze. Bei unserem Aufenthalt von 2.5 Tagen hat ein Nachbar an einem Nachmittag, den wir am Pool mit Ruhen verbringen wollten, seine neue Super–Karaoke–Anlage getestet. Zudem hat jemand den ganzen Nachmittag bis ins Abendessen hinein ein Klavier gestimmt. Irgendwann muss man das vielleicht machen, aber spätestens wenn die ersten Gäst

I had the opportunity to stay at a hotel in My Tho city in June 2024, where the front desk staff were notably friendly and the breakfast was fairly comprehensive. My room, number 407, lacked windows and had a fairly hard bed, although the bathroom size was acceptable and there was a desk suitable for work. Despite these amenities, I find the hotel to be overpriced, charging 660k for the lowest rack rate. While the hotel features a rooftop bar, it is modestly equipped and the service there was disappointing. The staff at the rooftop bar lacked a basic understanding of customer service and hospitality, which greatly diminished my experience. Their insistence on closing promptly at 10 PM and rushing me to finish my drink was particularly frustrating. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, their only solution was to offer a 10% discount, which felt more dismissive than accommodating. This experience, along with other service issues, has left a sour taste in my mouth, not just for the hotel but for My Tho city as a whole. Unfortunately, I don’t foresee myself returning to either in the future.
