Each and everyone in the property is so welcoming and hospitable. We had such a wonderful time here that it can’t be described in words. Chaitali and Kishore da were our hosts and they explained everything about the property with its historical importance. The food prepared here is just like home, feels healthy and yummy at the same time. Such good behaviour of the staff here that you can’t thank them enough. The ambience is beautiful depicting the history attached to it.

One of the best experiences ever! The hospitality is unparalleled, the property is absolutely breathtakong and every experience is catered to suit individual needs. The history of the place and surrounds is mesmerising, and buildings and monuments ,some 300 years old are waiting to be explored and the team arranged lovely guided sightseeing teips for us too. The luxury is regal, and we cannot have wished for a better experience! Thank you team Barikothi! You made Diwali super special!

We visited Bari Kothi for Durga Puja 2024 - right from Shasti to Dashami. It was a brilliant experience. The puja was authentic, the evening cultural programs done by local artists was very good. I am a vegetarian, loved the veggie food that was very home like. The best part of Barik Kothi is the people - they are simply brilliant. They take such good care of the guests… it’s really going back in time - to the kothi days.. you had to say and they would make it happen. Special shout out to Abhirup, Kishore, Chaitali, Mita, Sandhya… for making our experience truly wonderful. Hoping to visit again.

The hospitality of Bari Kothi is unmatched. We were there over a weekend, and were very well taken care of. Special mention for Abhirup Ghosh and Sandhya Chatterjee, who with their team attended to every small detail. Don't miss the evening trip on the Ganges, also the baul performance, which is sure to capture your heart. Be sure to learn about the history of the 300 year old Bari Kothi. However, bear in mind that you will be treated to traditional jain cuisine at Bari Kothi.

Looked for a serene place to spend our puja days, searched on Google, found a gem naned Bari kothi, added bonus- barir pujo, for those to know what it is. A 250 year old structure practically resurrected with love & care. Property is spread over 1.5 sq km, indulging you into the long gone world of the zamindars, urging you to forget yours for a few days. Durga puja is done with utmost devotion & love. Guests are as much a participant in every ritual as the priest. Evenings are entertaining with quaint bangaliana competitions, dhunuchi naach, baul & fakiri performance. If you are planning to stay during pujas, they have a package including all meals. Here I must mention the food is not bengali except ashtami bhog & dashami lunch. It's sheherwali cuisine, mainly Jain. You need to have an open mind & stomach for the food. Coming to the service: let me start with Mita, our woman Friday. Mita tomake aamra khub khub miss korchi. The way she has taken care of us & specially my mum can't be expressed in words. We are truly thankful & grateful. ***** with her Chaitali, Sandhya, Tofa, Poppy, Layla, Kishore, Madhabi, Kishore, Vikram & Captain Cook Abhirup Ghosh. Hospitality & simplicity is core to the wonderful experience we had at the Kothi. Specially Sandhya didi showed great sense of patience & was always on toes for any services we required. The place is more for one seeking nostalgic experience & not for youngsters looking for adventure activities. Relax the cuisine & enjoy authenticity at every level be the food or the local songs & dances by locales. The renovation is focused to maintain the old culture.

The rooms had so ethnic touch , very big. Adequate sitting sofas within the room as, well as outside Beds were most comfortable to sleep in Bathrooms were grand, well lit . All amenities provided. The Bari kothi ghat was very well located, comfortable breakfast setting. Missed the boat ride breakfast experience which dies not take place during Durga puja festival days Puja rituals were very authentic and very engaging Cuisine was different . The dinning hall was a grandeur The trunks were reutilized very meaningfully We had to leave rooms by 11 am. Our trains were at 5 pm. They provided us an Ac room for resting as my son was running fever. Nutshell people who can afford it must visit.

An opulent 350 years old Haveli by river Ganga, with a homely atmosphere and an ever smiling staff, so full of energy & exuberance that the two days that we spent here went off like a cool breeze. The Durga Pooja celebration, the activities like the sunset cruise, heritage walk, sight seeing trips, cultural evenings et al ***** with elaborate Bengali cuisine added to the rich experience.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay at “Bari Kothi” since 9th till 14th Oct. Our overall liking encompasses very high quality renovation work of a 250 years old building, heartfelt hospitality of every single person responsible for managing the property and guest’s services, varieties of traditional Jain food items in combination with other yummy dishes, breakfast on the bank of Ganges….every little thing added value to our quality impression. Our involvement with Bari Kothi Durga Puja was an additional exposure and we were feeling like a Puja at our own home premises. In true sense our experience for those few days was like of a “home away from home”. We are planning to be part of summer “Mango Festival” and hoping to enjoy our stay in the same way.
