The Royal Hotel

High end price tag for an old worn out antiquated dilapidated hotel, more like staying at Fawlty Towers! Stained carpets in hall ways & bedroom. Mould stains in a shower with a shower head fixed so you could only wash your head. Really disappointed

My family and I had lunch at The Royal and it was very good, and even better as there was a 1/2 price Special in November. Fish and chips, red thai curry and green thai curry were all very good. Friendly staff, nice room and good service. We will go back soon.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in November. It is located on the edge of Mundesley with it’s own car park. The room we had was clean and warm with a comfy bed. No real complaints except that the shower cubicle is quite tight. The shower is nice though with a good flow of water. One point to note is that the hotel does not have a lift and there quite a few steps/stairs. I don’t know if the hotel has ground floor rooms, so ask if you have mobility problems and want to stay there. All of the staff were very friendly and chatty. The restaurant and bar area was comfortable and welcoming. The food was exceptional. The chef clearly knows what she is doing and also went to great lengths to meet my wife’s dietary needs for breakfast and the evening meal. All in all, a nice stay

Came here about 4/5 weeks ago for a carvery. Well never again. Little bit of meat. Flat and cold yorkshire puddings. Rock hard roast potatoes. Hard parsnips. Then you have to go back for the gravy. Our normal carvery is at Kings Arms Ludham. Really yummy and don't need a hammer to get into the potatoes. Picture of our carvery at Ludham.

Just had a 3 night stay at The Royal..1st time. Was a quirky hotel with hampton Maze corridors!! which we found amusing & Fun... We arrived on Wednesday, and, after a small issue, (which our Man Will.. rectified) We ate at the Carvery that night and were more than Happy & Satisfied with our meal. The Breakfasts were excellent !! Hot & plentiful, choice etc. and Nam the attendee was omnipresent to help . The Bar waitress on Friday evening did a Fantastic job... on her own... coping with a last minute influx of customers.. as did the Restaurant staff.. Will & Nam.. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and were really blessed with great weather, we loved the Village.. (it could do with a cpl more Pubs!) and would probably stay again.. Many Thanks. D & C xx

Called in for a drink and a light lunch after a walk along the cliff paths. I am sorry to say that the food was very disappointing. We ordered a sandwich with chips, which was described as being served on thick malted bloomer bread. The sandwich was served on standard medium sliced supermarket bread, the turkey was dry and the chips were soggy, grey in colour and tasteless. For £13.90 it was a very poor offering. Won't be returning.
