Holiday Inn Express & Suites Racine

The hotel was very nice. The inside was very clean, the staff were nice and the breakfast was incredible. We can tell the hotel is either new or massively renovated. It was a wonderful experience. We ~especially~ appreciated the kindness of Tim in the breakfast room. We enjoyed talking with him and he even made a little “to-go” bag for our girls at home. He truly encapsulates what it means to take pride in your work and to be a good, honest, genuine person. Tim cleaned everything constantly, rearranged product to make sure everything was fresh on a constant basis and truly took good care of the kitchen area. We have never met an attendant like him!

Tim was wonderfully helpful to our family. We were in town for a funeral and he was so kind to us. We were in a fairly large group and he made sure that we were well taken care of. He even gave us some extra cinnamon rolls! He is a fantastic human and we are grateful for him.

We had an enjoyable stay. It was nice that they had gluten free options for breakfast for my family. Tim was great with meeting all our needs and being helpful with breakfast. Really liked the pool setup without having to walk down the hall by other room.

We stopped on a long drive home from TN. We were happy to find confortabile beds, clean space, wonderful staff. My kids were blown away with the size of the room. The lobby was welcoming and the decor was great. Tim, the breakfast attendee was especially helpful and friendly.

I had found this place after pulling off the highway due to the snow storm we had. The desk clerk waived a local tax off my bill and gave me the floor i wanted. Another staffer wished me a good stay. The room was great and a nice hand written note welcoming me. One of the elevators was stuck which i noted the staff.

My new favorite hotel in Racine. Place was impeccably clean, customer service rep Kristen was very nice, helpful and quick. Only complaint was an unusually small pool. The rooms were above average. I will be back.

We would stay here again. We were here for about a week, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we have slept on away from home! The bedding is white, and clean, blinds keep out the light, the coffee table with the lift up top was very handy for using a computer or putting snacks on while sitting on the sofa. There was the usual Keurig for coffee in our room, and the mini fridge. There is a Kwik Trip right next to the hotel if you need gas or snacks and it is fairly close to alot of restaurants and stores as well. The breakfast area was clean, with ample seating, and had plenty of variety to choose from. However, they did close earlier than listed one day, and some things would be empty and not restocked by the time we got there. During our stay we had a couple of issues here, but the staff listened when we addressed them, and front desk staff was always friendly to us. We always prefer a top floor room and that was not available when we arrived. I am a light sleeper, and we could hear people above us walking around and noisy the first couple of nights. (Understandable, not much can be changed about that.) After staying the first couple of nights we found that our bathroom had a leak around the toilet, and this was causing a fungal growth in the corner nearby. Also, the shower door tract and corners should have been more thoroughly cleaned as well. There are no ceiling exhaust fans so this may be contributing to the shower issue. I addressed this with the staff, and they were able to move us to a top floor room that had opened up. We had no issues in the 2nd room. A couple of evenings when we came in after dark, there would be 1 or 2 men/guys standing around near the front desk and appeared to be just hanging around and talking with the clerk on duty. They would all turn and look at us as we came in and thru the lobby. (I forgot to mention this before we checked out.) My hubby and I are in this area a couple of times a year on average, and we would stay here again. We have stayed at a few hotels in the area. This hotel appeared clean overall, but the bathroom floor and shower corners were not as thoroughly cleaned as they should be.

I am surprised to see so many negative reviews. I'm guessing there has been some staff and management changes because we did not have any of these issues. We had a hotel booked in Milwaukee and after arriving we refused to stay there and cancelled our reservation. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and we had to find a place to stay that night! The gentleman at the front desk was so helpful and got us a suite we could all fit in! This is not a super fancy hotel but it was nice, clean, and convenient. The free breakfast was perfect for our family with fresh made pancakes. The lady working was so sweet and asked us how long we were there, our plans, typical small talk and then recommended we go to the Wisconsin State Fair since we had nothing planned that day, it was perfect and we had a blast! The town and beach were great, quaint and relaxed. These were good hometown, hardworking people who enjoyed their jobs. They were prompt with any requests that we had and we really did not have any issues. We would definitely stay here again.
