Nice Clean Room

We were traveling cross country and were to stay in Newport, TN but town had no water due to the storm. So I booked this hotel in the nearest town without reading the reviews. Big Mistake. The hotel is horribly run down. The only pro I can say is the bed was confortable. The shower was dirty, The grouting around the toilet was disgusting. You had to hold the toilet lever down for a while till the toilet flushed. The room wall had dents in it. The breakfast area was rundown. There was a door to the outside that was falling off with a sign on it that said "Warning, Do Not Open, Door is off of its hinge". Breakfast was the usual fair, just OK. The coffee was a funny color and when you got to the bottom of the cup there was residue. The parking lot was mostly broken up and dirty. Lots of debris around. I would never recommend or stay here again

The TV and the phone in the room never worked I told the RED HAIRED girl in the LOBBY that it didnt work and all she said was "F*&K" She said that the internet was f&^king horrible and that the internet in this fu&king hotel was S^%T. She also said that i should just leave the TV on and hope that it would on and that it should after a few minutes. Guess what it NEVER DID!!!!

Let’s start with the good; beds were comfortable and no bugs. The bad; mold and holes all over the ceilings, dirty shower, cobwebs hanging from the ceilings, chapstick and Cheetos in the pull out bed, mattress on the pull out couch was covered in brown stains….the non smoking hallway smelled horrible of both cigarette and **** smoke. I was also charged twice and after a week of arguing for my money back, had to file a report from my bank.

I visited a friend who came to town to see our family. She stayed one night, then we met her at the hotel the next day with breakfast. Upon entering the lobby, no one was at the desk so we went on to the room. I knew immediately what we were in store for. The hotel was extremely ran down. Upon entering her room, there was food on the wall beside the coffee pot, dirty fridge, “stuff” on various places on all the walls, the couch cushion was ripped significantly, a roach was floating in the toilet, the bathroom ceiling had a coat of Kilz on it, and the actual shower was gray/black from where it hadn’t been scrubbed in many showers taken. I was scared to even sit down. If these things were visible to the naked eye, I was cringing at what the eye couldn’t see! We started reading reviews and were horrified by the things we were reading that were recently published by others. We packed her stuff and went to check out. Upon leaving, the man at the desk didn’t even argue with her about how nasty the room was. He told her she didn’t even give him a chance to move her to a new room. Idk why he thought a new room would make a difference. Then he tried to turn the focus onto her accusing her of having more than five people in her room. She tried to tell him multiple times that we didn’t stay with her because we live here, but he would just “hmmm” her and not believe her. Thankfully she got her money back for the next two nights she was planning to stay. Then she went to a much nicer, actually clean hotel. Also, this hotel advertises its on a golf course, but it’s not. There’s a couple close by, but if you’ve got money to play golf, you’ve got money to stay at a much nicer hotel. Don’t make the mistake of staying in this place.

Our check in over the phone was quick and efficient. The room was ok. There was only one towel in the room so I had to go ask for more. The room had been cleaned but not thoroughly. We even found someone’s pill 💊 in the bathroom entrance. The metal bed frame sounds like someone hitting a barrel with a hammer every time we move. It took over ten minutes to get hot water in the shower and only stayed warm if we left the sink faucet running on hot. The breakfast was ok. The waffles are terrific but the rest was nothing to brag about. In the juice dispenser the apple juice was good but the orange juice was only water with a little color and no flavor. With improvements in room service and maintenance we could give a higher rating.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Maybe even Negative 5 stars. Where do I begin? As we sit waiting for a call back from our pediatrician. Our children were exposed to mold during our stay and have suffered wheezing, and a horrid cough ever since we entered that room. Our first room we entered we were hit in the face with what could only be described as a washing machine load of towels that had been wet and forgotten about, ones that have mildewed and developed a stench so foul and sour that no amount of washing could ever renew them. A musty car that had once been flooded and had been sealed up in the hot Sun for a while. You get the idea. So we start to look around the room and find cheerios and cereal spilled all over the floor. Greasy sweaty hand prints perfectly preserved on the wooden head of the bed. Blood stains that permeated the sheets onto the mattress. The sofa had what appeared to be dried vomit and smelled of soured milk and stomach acid. We pulled out the sofa bed to explore further and found no extra linens, and more blood stains. We look around the walls and find a dark mildew creeping around the edges of the room and along the walls. The bathroom toilet seat had chipped and cracked and been painted over. The lampshades had mold and mildew and had been stained with what I can only guess is cheap beer from the smell. The worst during this 30 minute ordeal was that when we had turned on the air vent our children began having an asthma attack. Upon further examination I discovered visible chunks of mold, mildew of all colors and shapes that resembled leaves. I tried to loosen it and found it was grown hard and thick into the air unit. The remote control had been duct taped and was covered in a fine grease like vegetable oil. The air vent continued to fill the room with a toxic spore that made all of us being asthmatic into a full blown asthma attack. We insisted on a new room. The new room smelled much better, but to my dismay the bed linens were spotted with visible black mildew and mold. The sofa bed still had no linens. The toilet seat was also cracked and painted over. The walls paint was chipping away, and visible stains rested around the edge of the bathtub and ceiling. There was more mildew on the walls. More sweaty greasy handprints on the headboard. We called for replacement linens, and they said they had no pillows to spare. The replacement linens were also speckled and spotted with black splotches and smelled of mildew. The attendant at the desk apologized but said there was nothing else she could do. They couldn’t refund us. We had no money to go anywhere else. We regret whole heartedly staying in this hotel. Our children have been sick and coughing ever since our stay here. I recommend you run do not walk away from this hotel. Even the poor girl working the front desk acknowledged that our complaints were not uncommon and that there was nothing she could do, other than acknowledging that she understands it is bad.
