The Premier Lodge

Great value for money, decent sized room, good shower and a comfy bed. WiFi good, free parking, plenty places to eat or shop within a 5 minute stroll. I’m guessing all the negative reviews are from people expecting 5* luxury for 2* prices, don’t be put off !!

No one in reception on our arrival or at check out. Our room smelled of sweaty socks with paint that had peeled off the wall near the kettle and off the bottom of the door. Definitely not part of the Premier Inn group… Bed and breakfast with no sign of a breakfast ( not that I’d eat it in that place!) . Cheap and nasty, don’t go there.

Real budget hotel but the room was clean and tidy.The electric shower took some setting to avoid being scalded or frozen to death! Very good position for restaurants with choice of Turkish,Indian,French and pub close by within 5 minute walk. On site parking good. No evidence of breakfast service reception unmanned Morrisons supermarket a stones throw away where a good breakfast with coffee costs £ 9

2nd stay at the lodge… It’s clean, VERY central, has parking, nice owners… The price is budget but well worth it! No breakfast is available but a great quirky motorcycle shop/cafe 1 minute walk 👍🏻 This hotel is a fantastic budget option 👌🏻 I will be back for a 3rd stay

Had an amazing stay, I stayed for 9 nights, I used this for a base whilst visiting family in Northumberland, check in was quick and good, I contacted the reception before arriving to ask if I could have an earlier check-in due to travelling from Orkney and it wasn't a problem, It is a basic but very good place to stay. I didn't require daily room service but was done on request, nothing seemed a problem for any of the staff and we're all very polite,the room was fantastic, only thing I would say is a bigger tv in the room, The bed was amazing, I have already rebooked for my next trip in November 2024.

I've stayed here before and I would do so again. Decent hotel with a comfortable bed and nice room. I don't think they do breakfast any longer, but I could be wrong. The only thing that annoyed me was that someone, somewhere near my room was smoking and the smell was venting up into my en-suite bathroom and as an ex-smoker you get really sanctimonious about that sort of thing, because it was horrid

Do not stay in the premiere lodge Morpeth. We stayed in room 6. I should have guessed by the room number hanging off the door what was inside. holes in the carpet on the stairs. a punched holed in the bathroom door the room smelt damp second hand furniture stained and scratched. The stool had paint drips down its legs. chipped cups. I have taken photos below. We were only staying one night thank god. The reception wasn't manned nor could we find the man who gave us the key. it was disgusting

Very disappointing hotel. The room was clean, however furniture was very old, and not in a retro-chic way, carpets and curtains were thread bare. The room itself was like an 80s student bedsit. Booking through the Premier Lodge website, you get the option of booking a cooked breakfast. Upon arrival, the management stated that they DO NOT offer ANY breakfast at all. Luckily there was a Morrisons cafe over the road. Luckily for me this was only a one night stay. I would not go back

No it’s not the Ritz. The carpets are threadbare, the bathrooms are elderly and the pillows are truly awful - warned, I brought my own. Walls are paper thin and requests to keep tv noise levels down fell on deaf ears as far as my neighbour was concerned. Decor is tired to the point of exhaustion. BUT it’s very central, the bed was clean and comfy and there was plenty of hot water.
