I’m not usually one to stay at a 2 star hotel. I’ve been spoiled over the years, but the local Hampton Inn is way outdated and overpriced. I figured I’d give it a shot. What a pleasant surprise it was. It’s only 2 floors. The elevator is at the entrance and you’ll walk down a very long hall if you have a higher numbered room. Regardless, the hall didn’t stink, it was clean, I felt safe. Speaking of safe, the parking lot lights are bright and you’re literally across from the state police post. Hampton Inn barely had any parking lot lights. I stayed there the night before. The room was exceptionally clean. It was smaller, but expected for a 2 star. Don’t let that fool you though. If you’re looking for a cheap, safe, clean location/room, you really can’t go wrong here. The only thing I’d change is the light bulbs for the rooms. They’re the LED type bulbs that have more of a fluorescent look than a warm look. They work. I’m just more for pleasing colors. The TV is newer, maybe a 40”-43” LG. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. They’re not the more fancy push button to dispense, they’re squeeze the whole bottle to dispense. Regardless, I liked them and was very pleased with these additions. Lastly, here’s where things shined. Comparing to the Hampton Inn up the road, the BW breakfast was EXACT to what the Hampton Inn offered. Even had the 1-2 minute pancake dispenser where you don’t even have to put in pancake mix. That was super nice and often found at Holiday Inn Express locations. They had the same eggs, sausage selection along with biscuits and gravy. They also had fresh cut fruit. The front desk folks were super friendly and I couldn’t have had a better stay. Within walking distance of a very good chain Mexican restaurant Don Señor.
