Die Zimmer sind leider heruntergekommen, etwas muffig und leider nicht sauber geputzt. Beim Zimmereingang habe ich 5 tote Kellerasseln zusammengenommen und in den Abfall getan. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass diese von der Zimmerreinigung bis zu meinem Eintreffen ein paar Stunden später hineingekrabbelt und gestorben sind.. Es wurde also nicht suaber geputzt. Das Frühstück war ok. Leider, wie in jedem Motel, entsteht sehr viel Abfall beim Frühstück, da es nur Einweggeschirr gibt.

We stopped early as a result of a wind storm on the interstate, choosing this hotel as pet friendly. Our room needed to be vacuumed when we moves in. After cleaning it up, we had a good night with our two dogs, until we got up and both of us had a dozen bites on us. Fleas? Bed Bugs? Don’t know, bit I would never stay there again!

I wanted to like this place with the timbers and such but for $170 the room better be spotless, it was not. The breakfast better be good, it was terrible. The sink better not have cracks, it did. The linen better be clean and fresh, it was stained. the towels better be fresh, they were not. The drain in the tub would not keep up with the water flow suggesting the drain needed to be cleaned. I found this out when I had to stand in my own filth during the shower. I told the lady at the desk that I was not happy paying $170 for this type of room and was told the manager would call. It has been two days since ad no call. DO NOT STAY HERE. THEY WILL NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. We heard others complaining and nothing was done.

With excellence pictures on line we expected better than what we experienced. Dated bedrooms, strong cleaning supply smell in hallways, bath tub had worn spots, handle fell off toilet, hubby had to try and fix in middle of night. Breakfast was dismal. For off season, price was high $100. Only positive is they didn’t charge for pet. If you don’t expect much this will be fine. I don’t require much but for $170 it could have been a tad better.

Gave one star because zero is not an option. At the time of our mid afternoon arrival in May for our previously reserved booking at the Mitchell Kelly Inn and Suites, we found that the lobby smelled musty and looked to be dirty with seriously worn furniture. After asking the young woman at the desk to see the room before I completed booking in, she took me to a dark hallway which smelled even worse and was obviously in the middle of some sort of construction. Dust floated in the air and the smell was musty and damp. The room was in the same condition as the lobby. I told her that I was not interested in staying and would like to cancel the booking. After several phone calls between the booking agent and the hotel, I was advised that the cancellation would be completed. It was not...our credit card was billed for the night although we never stayed. Fast forward two months and several more emails and messages and still no refund for the billed room. So...not only was the condition of the hotel substandard, we have been ignored by the staff and booking agent in our requests for the erroneously billed room charge to be refunded. Do yourself a favor and drive another hour to the Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center at Cedar Shore in Oacoma. There we had a lovely lakeside room for just about the same price as the Kelly Inn's awful room, were treated by friendly and efficient staff, and enjoyed a delicious dinner in their Bridges Restaurant. Definitely a better choice!

We stayed at the hotel and my wife left her makeup kit. When we returned the same day, before registration for the next night, they had her bag but nothing inside. I know we shouldn’t have left the bag, but they clearly employ thieves. We would not stay there again after this experience. My wife says this will cost us a lot to replace, more then the price of the room for sure.

I really enjoyed the Kelly Inn. I stayed here one night on my way out to the Western part of South Dakota to due the whole Black Hills "thing". The motel is very conveniently located. There is a Shell Gas station and convenience store right across the street. The convenience store has a Godfather's Pizza Express. There is also a Culver's Burger place across the street. As for the motel: Let's be real, folks, it is an older motel. If you're looking for 4 star accommodations, then keep looking. The Kelly Inn looks a bit worn out from the outside, but the inside was a different story. This motel represents the old cliché, don't judge a book buy its cover. My room was spacious and super clean. There was a small microwave and a really nice, small refrigerator, which was larger than what you see in most hotel rooms! My bed was so comfortable! It was a bit softer that what I am accustomed to, but I had a great night's sleep! I took advantage of their continental breakfast the next morning. It's a lot smaller than what you might see at some of the bigger chains, but they still offered some hot items like scrambled eggs (which were DELICIOUS), sausages, and breakfast potatoes and they had a DIY mini waffle maker. They also had cereals, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, milk and juice. Overall, a great one night stay.

I decided to update my review after the hotel response. They lose a star for fact-spinning and running off a very poor PR template. My original review: Check in was SO slow. Literally the next person in line and spent 30 minutes waiting for the woman in front of me to get her reservations squared away. One clerk during the rush check-in hours during the high season. I finally got to the front of the line and told her I had a res for 2 rooms for one night. She checked me in and only for one room - I pointed this out and she then "found" the second room. We got the rooms and had a nice evening. Rooms are fine, mattress fine. Lots of meal choices for dinner in the area. Breakfast there was abysmal and so crowded people were standing with their plates all over the lobby. But wait, there's more. My disabled daughter was woken up by a couple at 1 am (she was so scared) trying to get in. They were also registered for that room - they realized the problem and went back downstairs. We got a bill in the morning for another person so I took it to the desk. The very nice couple overheard this (because we were all trying to eat our breakfast in the lobby) and we had a conversation and they were so apologetic about disturbing my daughter. It wasn't their fault. We got no apology for the error (neither did the other couple). The end. Won't be back despite the fact it's a decent hotel. Deb Geyer, GM at the hotel spun a very dubious web in her response: "Thank you for letting us know about your stay. We are sorry that you did not have the service that you deserved while you were here." (They were short staffed and strangers tried to enter my daughter's room at 1 am) "We do try very hard to please all of our customers." (This is you trying hard?) "Our breakfast is wonderful and people to linger in this area. We are sorry that you did not enjoy it." (Um, no. There was nowhere to sit so everyone was eating while standing in the lobby, not lounging around in smoking jackets enjoying the ambience. The scrambled eggs were soaking in water - more like egg soup) "While the person that checked you out might now have know about the situation from the night before, we do apologize that it happened." (Nothing like an excuse wrapped in a non-apology, eh? He did know because both myself and the other couple who had tried to get in my daughter's room TOLD HIM. Nice try - I think you should have just been fine with an average review. This response was ridiculous. Like your PR efforts. Hire more staff for the busy periods. "We do want to thank you for staying with us. We do appreciate your business." ( Pft.)
