Courtyard Cleveland Airport South

I stay at dozens of hotels a year, often the cookie-cutter variety. This property seems to be particularly poorly managed and is best avoided. The room wasn't fully cleaned. There was rubbish in the garbage can and poo in the toilet. There was a "do not disturb" sign on the door and the door to the adjoining room was open on our side. One of the light switches was missing its plate - like they just never bothered to put it on. The front desk said they'd drop some points into my SPG account but after a week that hasn't happened - seems to be a really poorly run property. There's no breakfast. These roadside motels often have terrible breakfasts but it's better than nothing. And the pool is closed for repairs. Definitely not a place to return to.

Undergoing renovation so very limited services in terms of breakfast; lobby was a bit of a mess. Rooms were very nicely remodeled but maybe some cleanup or checks should have been completed before immediately booking rooms. I would not recommend the stay until the work is done; it was, however, a comfortable bed and quiet stay—there are signs up for renovation noise at 8am

Renovations were very disruptive. Had rooms all down the hall not complete. One elevator was down. My drain had to be replaced and had a terrible smell coming from it. I asked to change rooms and was told I couldn't. Then asked for the drain and a bathroom door that fell off to be fixed and it was not until I called again that evening. I asked for the manager to be informed and no response. Very disappointing. This hotel does not represent Marriott standards.

Stayed with my teenage daughter who was auditioning at a nearby university. Stayed 2 nights in the top floor which was recently renovated. They’re doing renovations M-Sat from 8am-6pm, so prepare for an 8am wake-up call, although it didn’t impact us bc we were awake by then anyway. Room is nice, new finishes and furniture, had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Lighting could be improved within the room, it’s a bit dark and maybe they hadn’t gotten around to putting in the full size shampoo/conditioner bottles in the shower bc there were only 2 tiny tubes of these in the sink area. Beds are comfy and the water is hot and plentiful in the shower! Also, Scott at the front desk was very nice, helpful and a definite asset to the customer service experience!

They are under construction and the noise level is EXTREME. Starting 8am sharp through 6pm of after. While the staff was more than apologetic and kind, it was not ideal for any point of our stay. If you're looking for quiet stay or working remotely, I would not reccomend.

Having been on the road for close to twelve hours, I needed to crash and get some rest. I made the poor choice of the Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Airport South. Boy, do I regret that decision. Check-in was paltry. The team member was more concerned about getting the money off my credit card than checking if the names matched. My first room had a damp musty smell, and the garbage was still there from the prior occupant. NEW ROOM NEEDED. After explaining the issues to the front desk, he begrudgingly assigned me another room. My second had less of a musty smell, but the thermostat on the wall was broken. Thank goodness, the room temperature could be controlled at the radiator/air conditioning system. The towels were like sandpaper. My checkout was equally disappointing and annoying. Marriott, please refurbish this facility and re-train the entire team or close it.

Good sized room, big parking lot. At check in no bellman’s carts were available but Tonya at the front desk not only got us in a first floor room right next to a Parking space so it was convenient to back into that space and bring stuff in thru a side door. She even helped Me Roll our luggage down to the room while hubby parked the car! She deserves kudos! As we’ve noted many times, people are so rude and thoughtless they take their stuff up to the room and leave the cart overnight so no other travelers can get them. Will never understand why hotels don’t keep a log of what room took the cart to be able to get them back..or maybe have to leave their drivers license or credit card at the desk!?! Rooms could use a freshen up. No microwave in the room and the one in the lobby is old, tiny and took 2 minutes to heat up cinnamon rolls!

I really liked this hotel in many ways. I liked the way the room looked. I liked the way the hotel looked. The beds were comfortable but like 90% of hotel rooms, the mattresses and sheets were too hot when sleeping. I wish they had complimentary breakfast, that was a disappointment. Each staff member had different personality types and friendliness levels, which I liked. One huge negative, I am unsure if it was this hotel or the one the night before, but I am pretty sure it was this one, I got bed bug bites that I thought were poison ivy. I still have the bites a week and half later. I woke up in the middle of the night with my left arm feeling like it was "on fire". I have 6 big bites and a couple smaller ones, also 4 on my leg. I have never experienced these type bites and they are a drag.

The hotel was OK, but nothing special. It is an older Courtyard. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were terrible. The staff isn’t very friendly.I travel to Cleveland 2-3 times a month and I will not stay at this property again. Hopefully management or Marriott will address the issues here.
