Overall experience 7/10 Food 7/10 Entertainment 3/10 Service 7/10 Value for price 4/10 I booked a week-long last minute trip from May 1st to the 8th, 2024 (Wednesday). Single occupancy at 1895$CAD. Booked with Sunwing. Purpose of the trip: hoing through grief and challenges. Needed some time to resource and reflect. I am hoping this review can be helpful for - new travelers - travelers interested in Sunrise Miches - cis-het AFAB solo travelers Finding the Sunwing representatives in the airport was easy and efficient. They directed me to the right bus. Locals will try to sell you all kinds of things on your way there. Also, the bus drivers will push each other to get your luggage and blatantly ask for a tip. The resort itself is 1h25 minutes away from the airport. The bus I was in had free wifi, which was welcomed since I was the only one there. Although nobody has control over the weather, it is pertinent to advise that it rained a lot, every day. Sunrise Miches used to be a Temptations and Desires (swingers and singles resorts) and have been purchased my the Marriott group. There are still remnants of the resorts old life, notably in some of the staffs behavior. My first impression of the resort left me puzzled. After the rain cleared up I walked around the resort for over 30 minutes without crossing paths with a single person. No travelers, workers. Everything on the biggest side (the big pool in the middle of the colored buildings) was closed. So even if my room was located on that side of the hotel, there was no service and I needed to walk to the smaller side for food/ beverages/ entertainment. Mind you it is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on where you are located in the colored rooms. It is inconvenient when it is raining (a lot) Most of the resort is being renovated, so it is not uncommon to find wet paint warnings, workers all over the place and some banging. At any given moment, I would say that we were 30 at most on the whole resort. Not a typo. The number went considerably up since locals rented for the weekend. (Fri through Sun) Dropped right back to 30ish people. The up side is that you do not wait for drinks, food or have trouble finding a lounge chair in the sun, or in the shade, or both simultaneously. The down side, for a shy cis-het AFAB solo traveler is that you are an easy target. And they are relentless, even when asked to be left alone. There was also a single traveler who had been there for a while that was constantly out of line. (I am aware this has nothing to do with the resort itself, except that I wished someone would have stepped in) This situation, combined with the intense rain in the evening, made me stay in my room for every evening (except the last) and order room service. I felt part of my trip was stolen from me. Since there are barely any people at the resort, not all restaurants are open. Usually only one is open each day. The breakfast and lunch buffets are decent but redundant. Does t
