If we were to describe the perfect hotel for our trip we couldn't have done much better than MUMEDI. It's exactly what we were looking for -- historic building, modern room facilities, atmospheric restaurant, close to the Zocalo, small boutique hotel, great food, great staff, comfortable bed, great shower & bathroom. We stayed for 8 days, it was our first time to CDMX and so wanted a location in the historic centre cause that's where most of the things we wanted to see were. It's really convenient to stop in and out during sightseeing. It's on the main pedestrian street (it goes from the Zocalo straight to the Palacio des Bellas Artes) and our room had a little balcony over the street. The windows are double-glazed which work really well at keeping out the noise at night. We had a room on the top floor and so our bathroom had a big skylight which made it nice and bright during the day. The bathroom was huge, almost as big as the room itself. The ceilings are very tall, 15 feet maybe? There's a fan & a/c which work well. The breakfasts are amazing, they make a very good capuccino. Included in the room is a fruit platter, fresh juice, capuccino, and choice of main (we had omelettes most days), fresh croissants. Being on a pedestrian street you have to walk about a minute to a vehicle road to catch an Uber, but that was never a problem. Emanuel was great at helping us plan our trip before we arrived and was super helpful while we were staying. The rest of the staff are also amazing. You really feel like you're part of the city while in the hotel, which is what we wanted. There's no elevators, in case that's a concern for folks (it wasn't for us, although the first couple days we were winded getting to the top, as CDMX is at a bit of an altitude, we were fine by the end :) ) Overall it was the perfect hotel for our trip. I'd definitely recommend it!

Nice room, though the bed pillows were overly soft. The room was large as was the bathroom. Because it’s in a historic building in a courtyard room, there isn’t much natural light. The ceilings are high. It’s obvious the hotel tried to maintain some of the historical charm. Breakfast is included in the rate. The menu options are limited, but it is good. The hotel is on a pedestrian-only street, which adds to its charm, but you will have to haul your suitcase for a block. The hotel has no elevators. I had to go up two flights of stairs. This was no problem for me, but if you have mobility issues, this will not be a good accommodation for you. This is a boutique hotel that also offers a restaurant, a large gift shop and a small art museum. These features are charming. I never had a problem entering the hotel, but the restaurant and shops close at 9. The hotel is staffed 24 hours, so there will be someone there to let you in. But you may have to send a message because the hotel will be locked. If you are one to stay out late, this may be inconvenient for you. I would not want to call someone to granted access to the hotel. The hotel is in the old city and is convenient to tourist attractions and a hop-on-hop-off bus tour.

Lovely hotel in a very central area close to the main square. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms are really amazing with high ceilings and good facilities. There is one room with an inner courtyard aspect and others look onto the street (which can be nice but noisy). Our only negative point is they don't serve breakfast until the cafe opens at 9am which is really late for a hotel.

We stayed 5 nights here and had a very enjoyable stay. The location is fantastic, just a few yards to the zócalo. The property is multi-purpose, a design gallery, a restaurant and a hotel. Suite 2 was beautiful and spacious, with some great design features and a small balcony to take in the atmosphere below. With there just being 6 suites, you get that personal attention and this was most evident when we dined in the restaurant. Here Arturo was most welcoming and the food was of a very high quality. As we had early tours booked, a fresh continental breakfast was brought to your room at an agreed time. Staff are happy to carry your luggage as there is no lift, but the stairs may be a problem for the less able. When we were there the studio was displaying various Day of the Dead posters.

Hotel Mumedi is a really unique & special oasis in the heart of Mexico City! I stayed in room 3 - I *believe* it is the main suite of the hotel & it was wonderful! The room was so stylish with a large bed, large bathroom & really modern fixtures. The room overlooks the art exhibit which was really cool as well. Breakfast was included (& it was great). The restaurant also has great selections for lunch & dinner. We enjoyed the little street terrace where we had dinner twice. Delicious salad (apple/peach blue cheese/greens) & shrimp/fruit salsa wraps with wine & fun people-watching. The hotel is located in the center of the city near the Zocalo square (where there were lots of local events taking place). I was especially impressed with the service led by Emmanuel. He took care of us before/during & after our stay. He was in touch before our arrival & he was there when I arrived to help with check in & to get bags up to the room. He also had some drinks in the room + a special welcome dessert to greet us upon arrival. As others have mentioned, there is no elevator in the hotel but the staff does help a lot. It's an important note for those that seek an accessible hotel experience. If you can't do stairs then maybe this place isn't for you. But if you can, I highly recommend it - lovely location, a unique hotel experience, great staff & really comfortable rooms.

Beautifully renovated boutique hotel, restaurant, and museum in a great location steps away from the zocalo in the historic center of Mexico City. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable and the bathroom is the largest I've ever seen. Hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and always available. The restaurant is quite popular and the food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location near all sites in Centro. The room was super clean. Breakfast was delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. Using Whatsapp got responses instantly and there was always someone available to help. Very nice art display that a staff member opened for us to view. Zero complaints. Highly recommend if staying in Centro.

Design Hotel Mumedi is a lovely boutique hotel. It is a great option in the El Centro area of CDMX. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are large and stylish with many amenities including high end fixtures and finishes. It is also quiet despite its proximity to the Zocolo. Lastly the restaurant in the hotel is very good and the service is excellent.

I took a short notice trip to Mexico City and booked a place last minute that seemed interesting and unique. That was an understatement, upon arrival I was delighted to find a bustling, clean little restaurant on a pedestrian street, a one of a kind artist’s gift shop and a museum, which all comprised the lobby of this hotel. The museum was featuring a celebration of 70 years of Snoopy and Charles Schultz! Amazing! And a recent call to depict “ To death with a smile” had received numerous submissions of non-pretentious artwork from all over Mexico which hung in the lobby. My room was perfect, a little balcony looking into an enormous square and the sounds of the city with the ability to block it, with closing the window. There was a shared space off from my room with modern and antique design furniture. And who has a huge bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles? I fell into a deep sleep for 3 hours in a very comfortable bed, before starting my adventure. At night I was delivered luscious one of a kind deserts in little glass covered dishes. They were little artworks I could eat. Breakfast was included and you could really good enchiladas or Chilaquiles with eggs or chicken. In a superb green or red sauce. Terrific way to start the day. My friend and I would make nepressos, sit in the atmosphere of the room and the space and talk for hours, listen to music and were just happy and chill in a space very conducive to such feelings. There is also an an amazing jazz club, a cathedral, numerous museums, and exhibitions, shopping and shopping and good food all within walking distance. The jazz club actually played Vince Guaraldi (cash only). And the hotel staff used “WhatsApp” for all communication. They were awesome. I mean really awesome, responsive, kind, and great people. So I had a ‘Snooperific’ time in Mexico City and would highly recommend this curious and wonderful little hotel. Who knows I may make an annual pilgrimage! Don’t miss this little gem of a place!
