Really beautiful, very, very large room. Comfortable bed in a sweet alcove and two sitting areas and a desk. 5 windows overlooking the alley. Very cool domed ceiling with groovy chandelier Lovely bathroom, ample linens, tons of blazing hot water and great water pressure. Some sewage smell on and off (pretty typical in these ancient homes) solved by keeping the bathroom door closed. The breakfast is unbelievably ample, delicious and varied. The husband and wife hosts and the two ladies who work with them are all completely lovely, attentive and helpful. Great location inside the car free medina. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you!

An incredibly beautiful hotel with thoroughly friendly hosts. I stayed here for four nights on my first visit ever to Tunisia. The rooms are unlike anything I've ever seen in a hotel. Large rooms making me feel as if I'm living in an old North African movie by Bertolucci. Breakfast also beautifully served in addition to being delicious. I'm a fan.

Le Chambre Bleue was an excellent bed and breakfast located just outside of the Northwestward edge of the Tunis Medina. The owner and his wife were just so incredibly kind to us and really made us feel as part of their family during our stay. Any issues were handled with hast and they were so helpful arranging transportation for us. Beer and wine was available for purchase as well as free bottle water! Will recommend Le Chambre Bleue to our Friends! Breakfast may have been the highlight though, every morning being a little different than the previous. Homemade jams and bread were a highlight!

We had a fantastic stay at Le Chambre Bleue. Our room was super clean and full of character. Well situated in the Medina, we had lots of restaurants and street food options within a few minutes walk. Each morning we were treated to a selection of local breakfast dishes which were super tasty. A big big thank you to Marouane, Shiraz and Apollinaire for there hospitality - they are fantastic hosts!

I recently spent 3 nights at La Chambre Bleue. A charming guesthouse in the heart of Tunis medina. The owner Marouane arranged a taxi for me and the driver brought me to the door. You'd struggle to find it alone. My room was one of those pictured with an arched ceiling. Very pleasant and atmospheric. Complete with it's own patio. Note that the bottle of water provided is from the tap and whilst it won't kill you, I wouldn't have drank it had I known in advance. Communication in advance was excellent. Marouane speaks excellent English and was quick to respond. So I was surprised on arrival to be greeted by a woman who did not speak a word. Marouane does not live there. This was not a big problem but if you speak zero French then you might not be entirely comfortable. But then if you speak zero French then you're going to struggle to travel independently in Tunisia. M was almost always available on whatsapp and came and had breakfast with me on the first and last mornings. The house is super charming. He's refurbished it and wants to have cultural events there. Breakfast was varied with traditional type items. I would perhaps have preferred eggs, cream cheese etc (which I got other places). The lady running the place was very nice, despite the language barrier we got by on a combination of my bad French and google translate. It's worth noting that food options in the medina are a bit limited, and they close pretty early. I survived on the snacks I'd brought with me on the first night as everything was closed. It was only around 6pm. Even worse on Sundays. It's not the most tourist friendly medina (thinking of Marrakech, for example). Make sure and save the location of the guesthouse on google maps. When the shops close and the lights go out you might struggle to find your way home. La Chambre Bleue is undoubtedly a top choice for your stay in Tunis medina.
