Sheraton McKinney Hotel

The hotel was lovely. The room was very clean and provided all of the basics. The staff was extremely accommodating and went to Great Lengths to make our stay comfortable. The front desk person actually helped my brother-in-law get a donut on his car after he blew out a tire. I saw consistent acts of kindness and consideration. Would very highly rate their staff. Housekeeping was efficient and always made sure our towels were replaced as needed and the garbage bags were supplied when requested. Rooms for able to maintain a cool environment despite very high temperatures outside. Internet worked well.

Large new hotel near downtown McKinney. Hotel is laid out so where you check in and drop off is on opposite side of building from where the main entrance of hotel and from you park is. A little confusing. Staff is polite and helpful. Had room on top floor facing 75. Room was very large and very quiet. Pool was nice to lay out by. Very nice hotel.

I tried no to check bad reviews about this hotel but I ended up writing one. Lounge closed when it should be open 2 or 3 hours before the published time. The AC was not working properly in the room. I would not recommend staying here until they take care of important issues in the property. There are better Marriott around the area.

Overall, a nice stay and was treated nicely by the staff. Room was large enough with nice appointments and amenities. The drawbacks include limited offerings in the club lounge (nothing hot in the evening - just cereal, fruit, soda and water, coffee machine, and some simple snacks like M&Ms in a container that people put their hands in. The breakfast buffet is very limited for the price of $20 per person (free to status level folks, which I was thankful to have). Basic offerings like eggs, meat, potatoes, cereal, breads, dry pastries, oatmeal. For the French toast offering one morning, the syrup was in a heated pot left open to all who use it and walk by it... not very sanitary. If you are seeking a higher end hotel, this is not for you. It is an average level full service hotel.

Other than the name "Sheraton" placed everything, this hotel is not nicer than a Fairfield Inn. Do not pay for breakfast with your room, because the buffet is slightly below average and is not worth the cost. Staff was helpful, but everyone seemed like they had better things to do or were operating on their own agenda--which was odd for a nicer hotel.

This is probably one of the better Sheratons I’ve stayed in over the past couple of years. The property looks nice from the outside and inside it’s really nice. The room was clean and very nicely kept up, even though it’s the older design and will soon be refurbished. Checking in was decent, the lady was friendly. The property has a lot of rooms, so it was quite a walk to my room after getting to my floor. I liked pretty much everything about the stay – EXCEPT the lobby restaurant/bar. I got a card when checking in for a free glass of wine, so I went down to get one. About ¾ of the tables in the restaurant had dirty dishes which haven’t been cleaned yet. There were a lot of people also dining at the bar and other tables. There was ABSOLUTELY NO EMPLOYEE in the area… none to be found! I figured they were getting something from the kitchen and decided to wait. I waited so long that I felt I might as well wait this out. After 15 minutes, I got tired and walked away… never saw an employee – THIS IS RIDICULOUS and demonstrates very poor management. If it weren’t for the horrible experience in the restaurant/bar, I would have given this property 5 stars.

We will never come again! My husband and I have date nights here and there. Which as parents we get to take the night on the town. I was super excited because we booked with Sheraton before, and had the best time of our lives. So I instantly booked with Sheraton in McKinney. When we arrived I called the front desk, and explained that the room was extremely hot. Also that the water was cold, and the young man says he will send someone up. The gentlemen comes to the room, and says hey if it continues to be hot. In the morning inform the front desk, and they can handle the situation during check-out and apologized for the issue. Well in the morning, during check-out I explained to the supervisor, the issue. TEXAS is hot!!! The supervisor looked at me and said what would you like me to do about it? I asked what is my options, that had I known the hotel was going to be hot!!!!!! I could have to another hotel that was just as nice. She than proceeds to say the hotel is extremely old. Since the night desk did not make any notes on the room. She could not comp the room, but as a guest that is not my problem. I called someone to come to the room. That is your staff issue. so we only received $10 off. So after this bad experience!!!!!!!! I will take my family to another nice hotel, that can accommodate the guest! Make sure that guest are satisfied and to have some kind of compassion for the guest!!!! Not WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO DO ABOUT IT!!!! I felt under valued, especially for a nice night out, and I have to sleep in a hot room, and take a cold shower. No this is super ghetto and so unprofessional. I will never return, and find another nice hotel that will cater to there guest. Customers pays everyone bills, including the owners of the hotel and this is horrible!!!!

Great stay. Staff service and cleanliness was amazing. The restaurant is very cozy and the breakfast was delicious. The breakfast attendants are very attentive. I loved the hotel and would recommend it to my family and friends.

My husband and I went there for our anniversary. Whereas it wasn’t really a romantic environment, it was a clean hotel and a nice environment. He chose this hotel 🏨 due to location because it was close to the play and where we were having dinner. I did call the front desk because their shampoo, conditioner, body soap and hand wash were all the scent “Wood Oak” or something very similar. It was a very musky smell and my husband liked it, but it definitely was not for me. I called the front desk and asked for another scent and they were able to find a travel size shampoo in a light scent, but that was all. Fortunately, I had another travel-size body soap 🧼 in my luggage and I used their travel-size shampoo for my hand wash. I think it would be good, under the circumstances, if they offered a lighter fragrance in case there are other customers the musky bath soaps are too strong for. The bed was about a 3 1/2, but the room was clean when we got there. We did eat in their dining room for breakfast. My husband ate from their buffet and would give it a 3 and I ate one of their omelets and would give it a 2. Their breakfast potatoes were good and would give them a 4, but outside of that I would never order that omelet again. It did look good and initially I was excited, but when I took my first few bites, I thought it was very bland. Also, I went to the coffee bar to get some hot tea 🍵, but they only had one ☝️ flavor and it was a black tea. I was disappointed with their selection and just drank water. Their waiter was friendly and that was a nice plus. Overall, we had a nice stay and we’re thankful for the location and short drives we had to our events.
