We stayed for a night on the campsite behind the pub. £30 for the night which included electric hook up. Great amenities and so well kept. We enjoyed a meal and a few drinks in the pub beer garden as well as a lovely breakfast the next day. Some lovely walks nearby. Would definitely recommend.

The pub is absolutely gorgeous inside and has a lovely beer garden with plenty of tables, outside bar and there’s even a campsite on site. Right next to the river, it’s in a stunning location BUT is really let down by the food. My husband had the burger and chips, both of which were luke warm. He wasn’t impressed. I had the roast dinner / our waitress asked me if I’d like cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets and stuffing, to which I said yes please, thinking she was checking whether I liked these items and wanted them leaving on my plate. She wasn’t, she was upselling these items for over £10 in the end, I was not impressed. The Yorkshire pudding was ghastly, over cooked and horrible, pigs in blankets were anemic, roast potatoes weren’t roasted and crisp, I could go on but safe to say it was not good. It’s such a shame because it’s got so much going for it but really let down by expensive poor quality food

Lovely venue. Very welcoming from all the staff We had Sunday lunch which was a trio of meats. Sadly the pork was such a tiny peice we were unsure if it was turkey. The whole meal was Luke warm at best so not great. Portions were just right though. As I work in the food industry myself I can see the guidelines for hothold are not being observed which is worrying as the temperature of food was dangerously low. Please rectify this.

General feeling that they couldn't be bothered. Left with dirty plates for 15 minutes. Asked for a desert menu, given, but not explained to order at the bar, only told this on paying the bill. Staff seemed to be wandering around chatting among themselves and need training on customer relations. Food presented well and enjoyable. This is the hospitality industry that didn't seem very hospitable.

We stayed on the caravan site and absolutely loved our stay.Staff were really friendly and helpful.The shower and toilet facilities were regularly maintained and the site clean and peaceful.The restaraunt/pub was lovely!! So warm and inviting.We will definately return here,

We had a very enjoyable meal and evening with our friends at The Grouse and Claret last night. The food was great. The service was great. Thanks to Michelle for looking after us so well. She was friendly, attentive and efficient and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Just had 2 nights here with the caravan. It's an ideal location for Chatsworth and Bakewell. Lovely walks close by . Had a lovely meal and drinks in the bar. The only downside we thought was the fact that everytime you wanted to exit/enter the site with your car you had to go into the pub to ask them to come outside and raise the barrier. The staff must get frustrated too. Surely a fob or number plate recognition be more effective.

We chose this place as the location was perfect and the rooms looked fantastic. And it didn’t disappoint. We slept well and the breakfast the following morning, overseen by Tom, was spot on. The only downside was the previous evening when the evening food service seemed rushed and then we waited over 20 minutes for dessert. Luckily the good sleep and breakfast saved it for us! We actually wanted to book another night but sadly for us, they were fully booked. But we will definitely be back! Thank you
